Is "HighLine" cancelled for Disney Springs?

I decided to do some research today on this topic because I live near the Highline in NYC. I was going to do a live feed today on Twitter showing Disney World fans the structure that TDO is inspired by.

After doing some online research, I see that the structure was built last year. However, 4 months ago a "fan blog, news site" stated that it was cancelled due to removal of the "train track".

Is this true? If so, why? Budgetary or safety?

It would seem that the delay in the construction of Food Truck Park on the West Side, now also known as Exposition Park, was the removal of the “Sunshine Highline” second floor offerings, an elevated abandoned train track area for guests to relax and possibly dine. The concept art on the walls for Food Truck Park featured the above art until quite recently it was removed and signs change to reflect the Fall 2014 opening, rather than Summer. Disney is being very quiet about the removal, so it is unknown if it was a budgetary or safety decision. Drunken guests on an elevated platform WOULD be a bad idea. Regardless, it’s sad to see the use of these structures relegated to simply being shade and lighting structures. Oh well…

That's a shame. It made perfect sense to make more space with less space. All they need are larger guardrails!

How do we find out if this is true? I tweeted wdw downtown on Twitter and asked them. Awaiting a response.

Can't they put some hockey arena safety netting there? If the nets can stop slapshots, an occasional inebriated guest should be no problem.

Someone posted on here that the seating area on top of the highline structure was eliminated from the plan for to safety reasons.

Wow, that's too bad. I am ambivalent towards Disney Springs over all, but I thought that was a cool feature.
