Is Disney really doing that bad financial?

I am just curious because I have been reading the boards here and other sites and I am a little worried. I am supposed to be getting married in March at the Wedding Pavillion. I see people are talking about how bad the restaurants have been and service overall is not so hot. I even read that Disney took prime rib off a lot of its menus and replaced it with cheaper cuts. My fiance loves the prime rib at Whispering Canyon and that is were we are planning a farewell dinner for everyone. Our reception is at Ohanas and I haven't heard if their menu has changed. I have also read that they cut hours in the parks to save money.

I planned this wedding back in March when the economy wasn't so bad. I want to be able to go down and enjoy Disney. The restaurant situation is making me think a little. I was wondering if anyone is going over the Christmas holidays, if you could let me know if what I am reading everywhere is true. I would also like to hear from those who went over the Thanksgiving holidays also. I find it hard to believe that Disney has become that bad. I have been going for 25+ years and never have heard things like this. Please put my mind at ease and the people who are writing these things just had bad trips. Thanks!

Don't worry. Disney are just fine, and the vast majority of things at the park are just as normal. The restaurants have made a few changes here and there to the menus, but the vast majority of people are not going to notice or really care. Be careful about what you read on the internet. A lot of it is written by locals who visit the parks a lot. It's easy for them to consider all the tiny details, and to analyse things in great details - which tends to lead to them being very critical of everything. It's understandable how that happens, but don't let it worry you.

I will be willing to bet that you will come back after your wedding reporting everythinig is just as good as you expected and remembered.

Disney Fairytale Weddings are awesome by the way, they will do an incredible job with your wedding! Be prepared for some serious VIP treatment, and you'll come away wishing every day was your wedding!! :)

If you're getting married in WDW, then you will undoubtedly have the time of your life. Don't let something little like the prime rib bother you! :D

Have a fantastic time, and like Steve said, be prepared for some VIP treatment.

PS. on the Prime Rib - we havnt even had confirmation it's history. I have had several reports that its still at Boma, so to the original poster - dont even give the Prime Rib a thought.

Good point! Don't let a small detail like possible restaurant service distract you from the happiest day of your lives. :D

I am definately looking forward to the vip treatment. My aunt and her family, which go like 3 times a year, just got back and said the biggest thing she noticed was the restaurants have changed. Otherwise than that Disney is just as good as I remember.:sohappy:
I only speak of food because my fiance is a foody and loves to eat his way around "world." I feel much better after speaking with my aunt. thanks!
