Is bug spray needed in december?

We are leaving on wednesday for our trip YEA!!! -- I have been looking at some different packing lists and was wondering if bug spray is needed in december. It looks like daytime temps are in the 80's and evenings in the 60's. With the liquid travel restrictions -- if we need to pack these sorts of liquids then we would need to do a checked bag which we were trying to avoid.

Any thoughts?

You'll never have problems with bugs in Walt Disney World. They do stuff in the parks at night when the guest are gone that keep the insects out somehow. Even if you are leaving Disney property you shouldn't have a issue. I live on the east coast of florida and havent had any problems.

I've never been bitten by bugs when visiting WDW in spring or summer. I would think slightly cooler weather would keep the bug levels down. Also it's in the 60s so your probably going to be wearing long clothing for when it's cooler out.

Although @pug got bit recently so..... I guess I don't taste as good.

If you really want bug repellent I believe you could probably pick up some when you get to WDW.

The only time I've used bug spray in Florida at all was when canoeing in the more swampy areas. You'll be fine (and better off) without it.

If you do not put on sugary lotion/body wash, etc. you will be fine. Bugs are more rampant during the night but I think you will be fine in December. This past November the bugs ate my legs and feet up though.

Lived in Orlando nearly all my life and I find bug spray completely unnecessary except perhaps in more wild areas in the summer. You definitely shouldn't need it at the world in December where I'd be surprised if any insects even existed. That being said it really is a unpredictable thing. Some people just attract way more bugs than others.

I just returned home from WDW. I was sitting the balcony at the DVC section of the Wilderness Lodge talking on the phone with a friend during and just after sunset. There was a little bit of standing water in the grass four floors below and didn't think it would be a problem. I was out there for a good 20-30 minutes and ended up with about 3 bites total. Not bad but they do have itch relief stuff in the gift shop

I wouldn't bother. I have been many times in every season, never a bite.

That's not to say you can't get a bite, but even then it's unlikely to be more than 1 or 2, certainly not worth the hassle of dosing yourself with bug spray everyday.

The only time we ever got bit was May 2012 when we were sitting back by the train area waiting on our kids to ride Barnstormer. It was weird because i never remember getting bit ever before or since.
