Intro and Gaylord palms

Hi, I just joined this in hopes of learning more about Disney for my upcoming trip, yet to be booked. I stayed at the PO FQ last year for my first trip and want to go back this Summer. Loved it. Was wondering about this Gaylord Plams place, because it looked so nice, yet expensive. Any hints or suggestions? I am bringing my 6 year old boy and will only do 2 or 3 parks, like last time, because he gets tired easily and wound up. I live in NY. thanks
