International Gateway

Does the International Gateway entrance to Epcot open as early (at exactly the same time) as the main front entrance? I know that the World Showcase opens later than the rest of the park but can you access the front part through the backdoor, so to speak? If it doesn't open at the same time then there would be no benefit to those staying at the Boardwalk/Yaght Club/Beach Club trying to get in that way at the very earliest opening time. You might as well take the bus around to the front.

You can enter Epcot from Internaltional Gateway when opening time for Epcot is. You do not have to wait until world showcase opens. Most atractions are roped off and a few cast members are standing around to be sure people walk over to future world with out "getting lost". It is a great opprotunity to take some pictures in WS with out have other people in them. It is kinda a strange feeling with just a few people around and all the shops and atractions closed. You will also see CM cleaning, restocking stores and other chores.

I learned this the hard way, but the Boardwalk doesn't have a bus to Epcot...kinda irritating...

The boardwalk, swan, dolphin, yacht club, and beach club don't have busses to Epcot or the Studios. Truthfully I don't think they are needed.

Exactly. You don't need the boat, I always walk to Epcot when staying at those Hotels, it's a nice pacific walk, and you won't get tired. However, when you enter through International Gateway, you'll have a "little" walk to Epcot's other entrance if you want to start with Spaceship Earth like I usually do.

I Think When World Showcase Opens.....

I love the Walk from the Boardwalk to Epcot through a closed World Showcase, or the Walk to MGM, or the walk from the Contemprorary to the MK. Its so peaceful and quiet, those boats are so slow and LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:) Oh, it is, but I think it's even better to walk back to Boardwalk through the International Gateway at night, after the fireworks crowd has cleared. It's so beautiful to see the place all lit up and almost completely empty. (My wife and I had a late steating at Le Cellier during early May when the crowds were low to begin with...)

Before World Showcase is open or after it closes, the path to the I.G. is a nice way to go.

You are so right, sigsegv!
Before DVC, I used to dread fighting the crowds after Illuminations and waiting for a bus.
Now we just slowly stroll around the WS until we're afraid they'll kick us out.
(They actually did kick us out of the MK last year while we were waiting for the "Kiss Goodnight"; they were pretty nice about it though...)

Thanks to all who replied and assisted. I can now finish my planning and get back to letting the excitement build. We arrive at the Beach Club on 3/28 for 8 nights. Can't wait!!!!!

Have you ever tried those old cycles at the Boardwalk called Surrey Bike Rentals in the Boardwalk. Once I gave myself the pleasure, it was really nice- just to do it once.

we used them at the boardwalk and Riverside. And I liked the journey at Riverside more. It was very scenic and you didn't have to worry about killing people. there was also a lot more room and sightseeing to do at riverside.

The Kiss Goodnight is the last thing at the MK before they close up. The castle is washed in bright colors as they play When You Wish Upon a Star. Then Mickey comes over the PA and wishes everyone a goodnight.
Pretty magical...
But sometimes, on E-Ride nights, they don't do it I guess. We either missed it or they didn't do it because while we were waiting, a security guard came over and told us the park was closing.

O OK...I heard that the Magical Moments pins were supposed to give you a kiss goodnight when you leave the park, but they don't do anything when you leave.
