I drive has many restaurants and hotels. There are also many forms of entertainment such as the Titanic experience, an amusement park, tons of shops, and other oddities like Ripleys believe it or not. You can get there from WDW by going to TTC and getting a Lynx bus. If you go to the bus information booth right next the the bus lot at TTC they can direct you to which stop you need to go to. It's only a few dollars for the Lynx bus.

What’s TTC?
Transportation &Ticket Center it's where the parking lot tram drops you off. You go through a security check, you can buy tickets and then proceed to the ferries and/or monorail to the Magic Kingdom. So using the tram p/u drop/off as a reference point the bus lot is to the right. Another land mark to look for is the lost &found building the bus lot is behind that.

Getting to the Transportation and Ticket Center would require taking a bus to the Magic Kingdom or Epcot and then a monorail or ferry (from Magic Kingdom) over to the Transportation and Ticket Center. That's a lot of time to then take a slow bus. You'd spend a lot less time taking a taxi or ride hail (Lyft/Uber).

There are sidewalks along the main attraction corridor (about 4 miles from the outlet mall down to the convention center) but it is not really what is described as a walkable environment. The I-Ride trolley would help you get around the area if you want to see multiple places.

Is lyft similar to Uber?
Also how much does the i-ride cost

Yes, Lyft is similar to Uber (just without a new scandal each week) and is Disney's partner for the Minnie Vans. The I Ride Trolley has single trip and a variety of pass prices on their website, posted earlier.

Something that you and your son could do on I-Drive is take a HELICOPTER RIDE over the Disney Parks! They are different looking from the air and you get to see backstage of the parks as you fly over them. The cheapest ride is (was) $20 with Disney Parks Ride around $85 We did this our last vacation in 2013 and enjoyed it. AIR FLORIDA Helicopter ides on I drive...
