Hi!

Could someone tell me all about it? Like how old you have to be etc? I have found snippets of info around the forums, but nothing specific!

Thanks in advance!

Hiya! :)

Well, where do I start? :D

I've just come through all the application process myself and I'll be starting on the WDW International Program this July.

The only program available to UK applicants at the moment is the Cultural Representative Program. To participate, you must be 18+ and be a true representative of the UK (whatever that actually means  ).

The program last for a year and consists of three different types of experience.

Living: You will live in a Disney owned apartment complex called the Commons with all the other WDWIP participants. The commons is located near the crossroads area, not far from Downtown Disney. The appartments are either 2,4,6,8 person appartments. You will share a room with one other person. All your roommates will be from different countries. None of your roomies will be from the UK.

Learning: Depending on your job, you will have to attend certain classes. Every Disney CM has to attend the Traditions class. You also, have to option of attending other optional classes.

Earning: You will be working in the UK pavillion in Epcot's World Showcase. You have the choice of applying for either Food & Beverage (where you will work in positions including outdoor carts, counter service, seating, bussing tables, serving & bar work. You would be working in the Rose and Crown and the fish and chip hut.) or Merchandise. Here you will rotate through all the shops and pin carts in the pavillion.

If you are interested, then the best thing to do is contact Disney's Procurement Ally here in the UK. They are called Yummy Jobs.

Hi. Instead of starting a new thread i just thought i'd post in here and hope people come in to help me!

I e-mailed Disney last Thursday (the 4th) a cover letter and a copy of my CV, and i still haven't heard anything from them. No e-mail or letter to even acknowledge recepit of my application or anything. I have only since heard of Yummy Jobs. Do you think i should also send them a copy, or will Disney just pass on my application to them?

Thanx!

Hiya! :)

WDW International recruiting will send your letter over to Yummy in the UK, but it could take a while. It will probably be sent via Frankfurt to London. There's no harm in firing an email off to Jason at Yummy. Both Jason & Alexis at Yummy are really friendly, they will be able to let you know what's the best thing to do.

Just to let you know, interviews are usually held in March and October in the UK. So there is plenty of time to get your application in. :)

This is how the whole process works:

  1. Once Yummy has your CV, they will let you know if you have made it to the next stage.
  2. The next stage is a phone interview conducted by Yummy.
  3. After your phone interview (it could be some time after), Yummy will let you know whether you have been invited to the final set of interviews.
  4. The final interviews are currently only held in London. Here you will have a face to face interview with Disney International Recruiters. Here, you will fill out a yellow card with your name and address on it. This card will be sent out to you a few weeks after the interview.
  5. The yellow card will either say (a)Congratulations, you are being considered for a position on the WDWIP, or (b)Unfortunately, you are not being considered at this time.
  6. Getting a card with option (a), doesn't guarentee that you have been accepted. It is the equivalent of a "Maybe".
  7. If you get a card with option (a) it could be anywhere between a few days to 6 months before you find out whether you have the job.
    [/list=1]

In my case, I first sent my CV off to Yummy in March 2002, I had a phone interview in April 2002. I found out in May that I was invited to the October interviews. I recieved my yellow card in Early November. I than recieved a letter for Disney in late november saying I was being considered for a position on the WDWIP starting between July and Sept. 2003. Finally, just before Christmas,Jason for Yummy called and offered me a position stating July 2003. So all in, it will have been about 16 months between me first applying and me actually arriving in WDW.

Any more questions, let me know. :)
