I thought it takes months to design/create the costumes, like Olaf for example, it took them a year to actually bring him out into the parks.
Anna and Elsa were out a good while before their movie came out. Olaf became such a hit he was added later. Hiro and Baymax among many other characters were out before their movie premiered.

I did remember that Anna & Elsa's costumes had some issues when they were out before the movie was though. And weren't they added after?

Anna and Elsa we out in testing at DHS then disappeared to fix costume issues. They then came out at Epcot and were out by Nov 1 as that is when we saw them. The movie didn't open until the end of the month

This is common for the Pixar parade they have added characters before to advertise the upcoming Pixar movie.

Typically costumes are ready in time for a film's release. No doubt all five emotions have been created for the parks because this is a Pixar movie and Pixar movies get promoted. Frozen didn't get Olaf right away for the parks because Disney is stupid and thought the movie wasn't worth promoting.

Maybe they won't be traditional walkarounds.

Wondered about that since there was an audition for puppeteers. Does that mean only certain ones were made into walk arounds? Or none? Either way, kind of odd and disappointing.

And are they showing up at WDW at all?

I would say there's a good chance this is why they had that audition.
