Inside Expedition Everest

Can anyone explain exactly what happens in Expedition Everest. By that I mean, what does the ride do during the backwards part?

My mum would like to know so she's sort of prepared before she goes on it.

The backwards portion is very short, towards the beginning of the ride, and nothing really "happens" to you beyond riding a roller coaster backwards through some caves. In between that portion and the second "forwards" section is a brief show-scene involving the yeti behind you (you only see his shadow on the wall). The big drop out of the mountain is done in the forward direction.

The backwards portion is short in relation to the rest of the ride; however, it is one of the longer backwards sequences on a multidirectional coaster. To be very specific, you pull forward up a small hill and come to a stop with broken track in front of you. The track shakes a little and you begin to roll backwards into the mountain. The entire sequence is in complete darkness going in downward helixes (circles). You then come out of a turn into a cavern inside the mountain where the car straightens out. Up on the wall, you see the Yeti's shadow jumping on the track and breaking it apart just before you roll forward again and into the big (and really fun) 80 foot drop.
