Has anyone heard anything about an revamp of Innoventions? I feel like i remember reading a long while ago that Lanchester felt it didnt hold up anymore. Of course that could just be me projecting hehe.

I remember loving Innoventions when I was younger, I could spend a day just in innoventions. Now its like, so whatever...I've seen it, I dont care, it doesnt work right, its boring, or I have to wait on a long line for it. Whats so innoventive about whats there now? Boo.

Someone please tell me its being revamped?

I miss the Communicores - they had computers and technology there that didn't exist in the home. Now it's like walking into a Best Buy or some sort of trade show.

Inventions is great. Best place in Epcot behind The Seas IMO.
1. KUKA arms don't exist at homes.
2. With exhibits like "Where's the Fire?" and Don't Waste It it's preparing the public to be safer and it's inspiring people to do right in the future.
3. The velcrow show explains to people how the simplest things are shaping our future day by day.
4. Segway central teaches the public about a new mode of transportation.

I don't understand the hate for Innoventions?

I've always enjoyed Innoventions, although they are closing the velcro show, I'm afraid......

Do you include the Nemo version of the Seas? Because if so, then you have great taste (I actually prefer the dark ride with the exhibits as opposed to just the sea cabs)

As for Innoventions, the videogames can go (I do feel like I'm at a Best Buy of sorts). However, the segways are always fun, and it has the Piggy Bank Adventure (which is surprisingly fun!)

Any incarnation of the Seas I'm fine with so long as that 5.7 million tank is there I'm a happy camper.

Great, that pavilion has only continued my interest for the unexplored ocean--Nemo or not!

And that was it's main purpose when it opened in 1986. Glad I'm not the only one who feels that way. The Seas is an integral part of Epcot. The "inspiration" it gives the younger generations to learn about the Seas. That's what Epcot is about Inspiring and Teaching.

The sad part is that people usually go on the ride and get out of there, almost as if the tank/exhibits are a sideshow not worth seeing. As much as I liked the Living Seas, and as much as I like Nemo, I would have preferred the hybrid that combined Sea Base Alpha with a dark ride

So true and I wish it was that case to. Keep the hydrolators. Also they could of kept the SeaCabs and on the way to SeaBase one of the scientist would ask for your help in finding a clownfish (nemo). By the time you made it to the base you find him. Then the scientist ask you to explore the exhibits.

Everybody wins in that situation.

Precisely. As it is now, my family just thinks that the ride is a sad excuse for a potentially good dark ride--little do they know that the entire purpose of the pavilion was Sea Base Alpha...although, the Sea Cabs were a bit stale.

I highly recommend for your family to watch Martin's video on The Living Seas. It is truly breathetaking and your family may fully understand the original purpose of The Seas.

I've seen that so many times, but all of Martin's tributes are breathtaking.

Sadly, this time I'll be going to EPCOT alone--my family doesn't want anything to do with the "most boring park of them all". However, my mother rather enjoys the WS, but nobody else really gets the purpose of FW.

And that's why I argue that Test Track is better than WOM (I know I'm thread switching). But there are thousands of families like yours who say the same thing. And if WOM was still here I suspect that number to be even higher. Let's face it kids would pick driving at fast speeds over a history overview of motion. If it weren't for the Flower and Garden and Food and Wine Festival there wouldn't be as many visitors to the park IMO.

I'm afraid I was one of those kids, I didn't love EPCOT until I understood it; then the obsession began.

I just have to say my favorite part of The Living Seas was when the preshow ended with "Welcome to Sea Base Alpha" -- and the side doors opened -- and you see the same hydrolators in the movie. It always gave me chills. Sorry to poo poo innovation & progress, but that and of course Horizons, World of Motion, and Communicore were my favorites and reason for going to EPCOT.

Imagination has MAYBE come close to keeping up with the times, but it's mostly lame photo booths. It's all stuff you can do on your home computer. I'm not trying to be a downer, but argue that EPCOT can do so much better. I think we're just the minority here -- most people want thrill rides and large IR gun 3D video game rides at Disney I guess. lol!

I think people here do forget that we ARE in the minority (I know I do), and that our opinions do not necessarily reflect that of the general guest at the world. We have a different perspective being such big fans that we take time to post on message boards and learn minutia about the parks that even those who work there might not know.

To us, the old FW was something to be treasured. To the once-in-a-lifetime guest and the thrill-seeker, it was a boring area to be avoided at all costs. I can't say that the current iteration is successful as edutainment, but it is more successful as entertainment to the general public (though not really to me).
