Ok -- this will be my last post for the night (thank you for all the great replies, by the way!). This post will cover both Innoventions East and West so it might be fairly long.
In June 1999, I was at Epcot with my folks. My younger brother and I went to the Electric Umbrella to grab a bite to eat. We got our food and sat upstairs. Well, at the time, there was a staircase in the back of the restaurant (the side of the restaurant closest to Test Track) and when you went up those stairs, there were windows you can see into another part of that building. Inside that part of the building, there was a Test Track car in there and on that car, there was a sign that said "Coming Soon -- Test Track Cafe." Was there a Test Track Cafe in the works? And why was there a test track car in this building?
I've also noticed that the pizza place in Innoventions (the plaza closest to The Land), is closed down. When did they close down and why did they close down? My girlfriend thinks its because one side of the park is busier than the other. It was a good reason, but I thought maybe I could get an inside view from a Disney CM here. Also, across from the former pizza parlor, there was a store or another restaurant, I guess, and now it's just windows with black paper on it. Are they planning on doing anything with that space in the future?
I've noticed in Innoventions that they got rid of the IBM Networked Challenge race car game. Something else is going in there as there's a huge construction wall where the game used to be.
I loved going there first thing in the morning and setting the high scores for the day. If anyone has seen the name "HAQQER" on that High Score Display... guess who it was?
On that note... thank you all for the replies to the postings. Have a good night! And, if anyone is going to Disney tomorrow (Monday -- June 14th) -- think of me bustin' my butt at work while you're having a good time.
Good night everyone!
