DISNEY'S ANIMAL KINGDOM - INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
Responsibilities:
The Research Biology Department of Disney's Animal Kingdom collects and processes data from animal behavioral observations which are used to add to our understanding of zoo animals and to facilitate their optimal care and well-being. Interns assist in the development of new data collection technologies and the automation of reporting procedures. Develop animal observation data collection screens for Palm Pilots using satellite forms. Assist animal programs Cast members with digital image processing in video lab and maintain cataloging system. Code specific modules of the daily report system and participate in designing new program functionality. Develop web-based content field tag web sight and Animal Programs Intranet.
Required Qualifications:
Junior or Senior
Computer Science or Information Systems major
Excellent written and oral communication skills required
Programming skills using Visual Basic or Visual FoxPro or knowledge of object oriented programming techniques and basic understanding of Internet technology
Competency a variety of windows desktop publishing software such as PhotoShop, FrontPage, CorelDraw and PowerPoint
Basic understanding of relational databases and Information Management
