I am doing a research paper for school on the opening of Disneyland in 1955. So far, I only need to know what happened before, during, and after the event.

Before July 17th, 1955: Walt wanted to build a really cool amusement park, and then he did.

During July 17th, 1955: The park opened to a big crowd and a live TV show, and the pavement was still so fresh that ladies heels got stuck in it.

After July 17th, 1955: Disneyland became wildly succesful and spawned an entirely new entertainment industry and created untold wealth and happiness for millions of people.
