Indy Speedway

I just picked up my famous Yellow Shirt from the Safety Department at the real Indianapolis Motor Speedway yesterday. It made me think of WDW's version.

I haven't been on the ride since before they overhauled it with the Indianapolis theming. What do the CMs wear? Are they black pants and yellow button-up shirts? I just can't picture it at all. If Disney is going to be realistic in the costuming of those CMs, and be as close to the real thing as possible, they would have them wear black pants with the yellow Safety Patrol shirts that are so common here at the oval. Just wondering - thanks!

It's been awhile since we've been there, Dec 2003, but if I recall correctly the CM's are dressed in a futuristic silver type jumpsuit with some added color.

I like your thought though of the realistic safety outfit, as I've been to the 500 several times myself.

They've been called "The Skittles Outfits" because they have red, purple and yellow zig zags going down the front. The majority of the costume is gray, though

From reading the few responses, I take it they're nowhere near the realistic uniforms of the IMS. Oh well, I was just wondering.

So, gboiler, are you a fellow alum, or just a fan? I graduated in Dec 2002.

If you plan on visiting the IMS this year, I'll be working the Pit/Garage area on Sunday, May 8.
