Individual Lightning Lane availability

Hi all!

I would consider myself a WDW veteran, but I had a question about Individual Lightning Lane availability for those staying off property. I know off-property guests can only book ILLs once the respective park opens, whereas on-property guests get to book right at 7am.

I have found a few websites that track when lightning lanes sell out, but I have not been able to match this data to historical park hours.

Does anyone have a gage for how common it is for ILLs to sell out before the parks open? We are traveling the week after Easter, so I am preparing for peak crowds.

I just went during Spring Break last week and stayed off-site and it didn't sell out. Be ready for available times to be later in the day or early evening, however. For HS, we got Rise at 7:55 pm and in MK we got 7DMT at 6 pm.

Thank you!
You're welcome. The ride time you get may also affect your plans for in the evening. We had a VIP lunch for the Fantasmic 8:30pm show scheduled for around 1:00pm. Getting Rise at 7:55 conflicted with that plan. Fortunately, Fantasmic is also offered at 10:00pm, so we cancelled the lunch more than 2 hours prior. We then rode Rise at 7:55 without worrying about conflicting plans with the 8:30 Fantasmic and saw the 10:00pm Fantasmic via the standby line.

Just a FYI that Fantasmic isn’t always shown twice.

When booking an ILL you do get to choose your time, but OP might not have a lot of choice by park opening. So giving some thought to which is more important to you beforehand will help with making a snap decision when booking an ILL.

Thank you. I understand that. I was referring to my situation, so you need not correct me as I was literally there last week. However, Fantasmic is offered twice right now. Regarding "choosing time", that's a croc, because you better choose it or lose it as everyone else staying off-site is doing the same as you. In fact, when in MK, I "chose" 7DMT for 3:30. By the time it saved, it was 6:00pm. Reservations are occurring in the system at microseconds. So, you better choose what time it gives you, even if you end up with a different time, or risk not getting it all.

A point about ILLs for OP.

The system will give you a few times but you can scroll earlier or later. You can click on the hour you prefer and It will often, but not always, have a choice of times,.
