OK.....I need to say this.....

That Indiana Jone Stunt Spectacular could be the home 2 or 3 new attractions at MGM.

Does anyone else feel it could be closed tonight while we sleep and noone would miss it?

I just noticed there's not alot of chatter (pro or con) on here about it so I need to know: "Am I the only one who thinks it's time is past?"

I would miss it. It's my favorite show on the property and it packs in a full crowd every show. I don't think Disney will be parting with it any time soon.

Especially with the rumors of a new Indiana Jones movie coming out in the (near?) future....

More than Rumors ;)

The show seems to be a fan favorite, and I would hate to see it go unless an Indy Ride replaced it.

Nope no rumors! :D

It's been put off for so long because of George Lucas being busy with the Star Wars films. I don't know if filming has started yet but I heard whenever there is time for him to do the film is when it will be done.

That's EXACTLY what I'd like to see, SPIDEY!
There is a VERY cool Indiana Jones ride in Disney Land (California) that would be aweseome to have here. Quite simmilar to the Dinosaur ride in AK as far as the vehicle itself.

My initial thoughts are that the same script is still being used "word-for-word" every time I see it......And that "plant" tourist in the audience is a little worn out too.

Maybe with the new movie, they could add a few new stunts to the show? We'll see!

All I know is, Harrison Ford should sue if He is not offered the role in the new film!

Hmmm i seem to know more about this than anyone posting... the movie is set to be a 2004 summer release, it will start filming next year, and many Indy girls will return, plus Sean Connery as Indy's Father... Harrison Ford is going to play the character again, it was mostly his idea to get the sequel rolling. It will be aged accordingly so we get to see what happens to an archeologist/explorer/adventurer as he begins to age.

COOL! Thanx for the scoop!

I'd still love to see that Indy Attraction from Disney Land at MGM in place of the stunt show. One can dream, right?? HAHA!

But why in the place of the stunt show? I know MGM is small but wouldn't it be better if the show could stay and the ride be added? I think so...

Believe it or not, the Indy show was originally supposed to be a temporary fix for the park until a major E-ticket featuring Indiana Jones was added.

Obviously this was one of the first expansion plans that got axed after DLP.

Well, I'm right there with the ones who love the Stunt Spectacular. A visit to the Studios isn't complete without stopping to see Indy. And you just GOTTA laugh with that tourist, I don't know anybody who can flip over their own head like that guy!

Sure, an Indy attraction like the one at DL would be cool, but the Stunt SPectacular is an institution, totally into the "you go into the movies" theme that the Studios has. It's one of the few attractions there that actually pull this off.

Oh, and I hope the movie rocks. Spielberg says the script is ready, and I pray every night for them to have axed that stupid Indy son idea... :hurl: They should touch the books, they're considered official chronology. And they better mention the fact that Indy can age but can't die!! ;)

Although I do enjoy the Indy Stunt Show, I would not be mad if they replaced it. (I would be mad if they closed it without any plans of putting in a new attraction)

I think a good way to replace the show without spending a lot of money would be to make a brand new stunt show (like at the Studios in Paris). Not that I am saying that I wouldn't be happy if Disney were to get rid of the theater and build an entirely new attratcion building/area. I am just trying to think logically, because we all know how much Disney hates to spend money :animwink: )

A stunt show just seems to be needed in a movie theme park.

As for the Indy ride idea, I know a lot of people put the idea down because the Indy rides have the same track as Dinosaur, but if Disney were to make a new ride, mabey to go along with the new movie release, wouldn't it be possible to make an entirely different track for a WDW version? Besides, if they put one in MGM, the similar rides woudl be in 2 different parks. Plus, looking at the other Indy rides out there, they use the track a lot better than Dinosaur does. Indy at Disneyland is one of the best rides I have been on, to be honest.

Wow, Indy at night is sooooo spectacular. John Williams' amazing soundtrack blasting all around you, the fire explosions are even brighter at night, and man oh man is it magic. the Epic Stunt Spectacular is one of the best parts of Disney Studios and is a Disney Classic. The should however build the Indy ride there, too, maybe close to the Stunt Show. Hey, if they had no room but could fit it at DL, then they can surely do it here.

The first time I saw the Stunt Spectacular, well, let's just say I was young, impressionistic, and didn't miss a subsequent showing after that. I really made my parents mad when I wanted to see it at night, and they said no, but I kept at it, and eventually I got to go with my dad, while my mom went on Star Tours again.

As for the show itself, I'd say they need to take out the whole "guy in audience" thing... it's kinda gotten old. But they should leave the giant rolling ball alone, because hey, that's the thing that makes it Indiana Jones! And as for the DL ride, I'd love to ride it again, but I don't want an exact copy... give me a refined, updated experience. Maybe set this one during the Cold War, with proper show and everything!

I can dream, can't I?

But I'm sure for more than half the people in the audience (well, maybe not that many ) who have never seen the show before, the guy planted in the audience comes as a big surprise and is a big laugh.

Pumbas Nakasak

Heading for the great escape.
Thew show that was used as a replacment during Indys rehab was far more entertaining and was more true to the term stunt. Lets face it the present show is just a display of electronically controlled gimmics. Whereas the show that was on New York streets was full of high falls and had a good deal of slapstic humour.
Seeing a car on a pole flip over is only entertaining once.

Yeah! Don't touch it unless you replace it with another Indiana Jones attraction.

I always loved the Show since my first time at the park. The may should update some parts, not all is a fun Show anyway. But the idea of the Ride at DL would be so cool or how about the Ride at Disneyland Paris wish is a RollerCoaster and goes backwards!!!! (saw this one on Secrets at Travel Channel) since it was a huge crowd pleaser the Original way (wish ran normally) the updated to run backwards... wouldn't that be nice

By the way nice avatar Goofter
