Hey everyone, just a thread to get a few opinions. Should Disney trade in the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular at MGM for a sister attraction to Disneyland's Temple of the Forbidden Eye? I've never been on 'Temple' but I hear it's unbelieveable and manically popular. Plus the stunt show is starting to be something I feel less and less guilty about skipping with each recent visit. MGM could use a third E-ticket attraction anyway, and it would be a good way to draw crowds away from Sunset Boulevard. Also, are Disney and George Lucas in talks of overhauling Star Tours, I thought I heard something about this but can't remember.

I think it would be a good addition to the park, but i dont' think disney should do it. I think it's better to have an attraction like that be only in one resort and not the other. besides, ak already has dinosaur, which is very similar. although who knows? anything is a possibility, and if one was built, it would be a terrific addition to the wdw resort.

Actually i would rather see it added into the magic kingdom. It doesent fit in with the movie making part of the park. Actually now that i think about it neither does star tours. Anyway I would like it added next to the jungle cruise like in disneyland. it fits better with the themeing.

They ought to follow thru with their plans to build an entire Indiana Jones land at the studios. The old plan was to build all the Indy attractions behind and around the stunt show.

Maybe if they ever went ahead with the plans to create a theme park based entirley on movies ( :brick: :hammer: ) they could put it in there. (I know, I know...keep dreaming...) I would hate to see the old indy go, but i have heard the one in DL is awesome. Go Figure

I agree. I'd rather see them take out the Swiss Family Treehouse and put Indy there. I'd also hate to see them take out the stunt show. I don't go to it everytime, but I do like it.

I don't think they should take out the stunt show but I think it would be cool to see another version of and indiana jones ride.

First off I do not think that they would ever trade the stunt show for a clone of the ride.

I believe Indian Jones Stunt show is very popular.

Next thing – Is it just me or are you getting tired off all Eisner’s clones?
Disney World rides at Disneyland – Disneyland rides here.

Dam it – use your Imaginers!

Sounds great, and why not? There already IS another Indy ride built in Tokyo Disneysea: Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, which is even more advanced than the original. Also, there is a low-intensity mine car indy coaster in Paris.

It would need a new "object" though, seeing as how Forbidden Eye and Crystal Skull are already taken, how about "Indiana Jones and the Hand of Fire" or something like that? I think it would be a perfect addition to MGM and help to balance the flow of traffic on that side of the park.

Of course, it would fit nicely in Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom as well, not to mention and the Animal Kingdom too if you theme the attraction correctly.

I don't care WHERE it goes, just put an Indy ride of some sort in Florida.

I do like the stunt show, but I agree it is time for a change. I think it would be a good idea to still have a stunt show, just make a whole new one. I mean, what's a movie studio theme park without a stunt show? :)

I agree the park would loose an important attraction. If Disney is to every make an Indian Jones Ride - I hope it is at another park- (Another park could be Disney World Seas)

Wow 9 other votes hehe. At least I'm not alone. I grew up watching the Indiana Jones films and the Stunt Spectacualr has always been a favorite of mine because of that. I don't think I could cope with seeing the show removed...I would however love to see it kept along with the addition of DL's IJ ride. :)

I have to respectfully disagree with an Indy ride going into the MK. The Indiana Jones films are movie making at it's finest. They are not Disney movies, concepts, or stories. MK should be kept reserved for Disney: whether it be past movies or original concepts.

I think an Indy ride in DS would be a wonderful addition, but leave the stunt show. Both would compliment each other, and pull even more people to that side of the park.

Bryy2001, regarding the Star Tours update, the last I heard was that Lucas wanted to redo everything at a big price tag, but Disney didn't want to spend the money. Also, there is the issue of Lucas wanting to control everything, and we know how Disney feels about that situation. And, of course, it's anybodys guess what the real reasons are. Needless to say, any changes will be several years away, since Disney has made other financial obligations over the next few years.

No.

Why?

First, Crystal Skull (the TDS version) has new special effects and other additions.

Second, not enough room.,

Third, this is a hugely popular show.

Fourth, it sucks in FastPass people from Star Tours and Muppets.

For our family, going to DL is a once every 5 years thing. We do WDW once a year. If Indiana Jones Temple and Matterhorn were in FL, we'd never visit DL. I like it in DL, gives us a reason to visit.

Well, for those of us who are probably never going to be able to afford to travel across the country to Anaheim, let alone across the world to Tokyo, having an Indiana Jones ride in Florida would finally give us a chance to expereince the ride. It's all about more bang for your buck.

I personally wouldn't mind a ride to replace the show. Here's one of my problems with all of the shows at Disney's MGM Studio's. I don't like the fact that you have to plan around all of these show times to try and take them all in. Add planning for Fantasmic and your day can fill up pretty fast. My family does enjoy all of the show's, but it would be nice to wing it around MGM instead of rushing around to make it for the next show. Yes, we do the FP when available. Just my opinion of course:rolleyes:

...

i would like the idea of having an area based on indy and action.

I'd also like to see changes in the show too, every now and then.

if i had to choose one indy attraction that i would like to see in MGM i would get really stuck!

* though why not have like a new kinda rollercoaster that can go through inversions but also do all the cool high tech stuff the indy ride does at disneysea? i'd definetly go on that attraction a few hundered times!
