Having ridden both IJ Adventures, I can safely say that I prefer the DisneySea one to Disneyland's because of the bigger temple, and the new effects. Which one do you prefer and why?

For me it's a toss up. Some of the effects were better at TDS, but I liked the fire bridge better at DL. Also, DL had more interactive aspects to the line. But as you said, TDS has the temple. So I loved them both and really couldn't choose.

I thought both queues were excellently themed but I would choose Forbidden Eye's queue over Crystal Skull's also. Both give you a sense of danger but I like the warnings written on the ruins for you to decipher in DL's as well as the traps. TDS's only has a bunch of murals that depict warnings. I liked the skeletons in both queues.

As for the temple, Crystal Skull wins by far. It is much bigger, and the overall building is very impressive. Disneyland had a problem with space, and could only build a small show temple. The Lost River Delta area also adds to the immersion level as compared to Adventureland in Disneyland which doesn't have that same effect.

Effects wise, Crystal Skull also gets my point. Everything looks better, and features nothing but fully rendered, highly detailed three dimensional scenes (no painted boards like at Forbidden Eye), a surprising multitude of additional, extremely impressive, new effects, like the Fountain of Youth and the staute that blows a fireball at you. Instead of lava underneath the big chamber with the bridge, there is mist and electricity flowing underneath. Some people criticize Crystal Skull for lacking the danger of the lava and pyro. Even though it was taken out for safety reasons, I find the Fountain of Youth/electricity theme just as effective in creating false danger. It's also not as bright as Forbidden Eye, which is good because it adds to the suspense.
They both have similar idols. One being Mara, the other being the Crystal Skull, and in the main chamber with the bridge, both of them shoot laser beams (red/blue) at you which makes you feel like the bridge is about to collapse into the lava/electricity but personally, I found the Crystal Skull more terrifying because of its look. Mara looks too "human" to be scary.

Overall, Temple of the Crystal Skull is better because it takes the original and adds a bunch of new and improved effects as well as more details.

Has anyone rode Indy(Disneyland) in the previous year? If so, how is the upgraded bug room? Are the projections still flat and unreal?
