Incredicoaster Re-Working

As a quickie, I decided to try and revamp the Incredicoaster, turning it into a true Disney-worthy experience.

You may notice the backside of DCA’s gotten a lot more… natural. Gone is the old-looking coaster with fake wood clashing with scream tunnels and a loop. Now you see a beautiful rocky outcropping with plants and a waterfall, much like what can be seen in Monterey. From the front of this complex, you can see a golden memorial to the lost heroine Stratogale. Occasionally, tears will come from the eyes of the statue. Looking further, there’s a distinctly… incredible building, in front of a rocky outcropping. The front “Incredicoaster” sign remains, but now leads into a more elaborate pre-show.

Along the walls and the floor are artifacts relating to The Incredibles. These include some newspapers with headlines such as “Winston Deavor Scandal Costs Him Everything” (There is an image of Winston imprisoned with Evelyn), “Stratogale Found Alive?”, “Supervillain Crime Returns”, and a few taken from the movie. You will see trophies, kids drawings, and a tribute to the original occupant; the original Parking Lot. To be exact, some of the old signage can be seen hidden away if you look up. The pre-show film still plays, now with a larger screen. New screens show safety information with Voyd getting in the coaster car, informing that the coaster is on Nomanisan Island, repurposed by Mirage as a thrill ride and memorial to Syndrome’s victims, made thrilling using the SOBAT System. It also warns of the loop on the ride, providing a last-second exit. We enter a rocky cavern inscribed with a prophecy by the natives of the island, telling of the Incredibles as saviors from Syndrome’s reign after he destroys the old dynasty of Supers. As you look above, you see that the ride’s track is now enclosed, taking place under the same rocky cave at the start, with the water of the underground lake surrounding you, and a mural of the Incredibles defeating Syndrome above you. Voyd is heard preparing herself for being launched by Dash Parr to retrieve the stray infant, and is seen in Audio-Animatronic form. The launch sequence enters a dark cave before launching up into the first ascent.

If you look to your left, you can see the industrial Mickey head from the original California Screamin on the ground, alongside the sun icon on the right. What was once the first scream tube remains a show sequence, but now using screen projections rather than merely static figures. A Jack-Jack figure pops up and fires a laser as a hole opens in the screen to neutralize it as Dash makes a break for it, and tries to restrain him. We then see Dash run off as Frozone arrives on his ice board to help try and corral Jack-Jack, but he changes into his flame form and melts a hole in it. Next former scream tunnel has an Elastigirl animatronic reach for Jack-Jack as he phases in and out, popping up as a figure and on the screen. Mr Incredible then breaks off a section of the tunnel, track included, to try and give Jack-Jack a cookie. Voyd activates her powers to get us to safety. Safety being a relative term, as the Underminer can be seen popping up out of a hole, for Violet (Audio-Animatronic) to have to protect us, but Voyd’s power overloads with hers and we go up the vertical loop. We swerve into the third tunnel, which Jack-Jack sets ablaze, forcing Violet to protect us just as Voyd is forced to trigger her power again. This gives us glimpses of other realms (Cars, Monsters Inc, Onward, Coco (Stratogale in skeleton form can be glimpsed waving to us), and some footage of the original ride) as we go down the tunnel.

Jack-Jack multiplies, in the forms of Audio-Animatronics, figures, and screens, for a manic climax, as we see glimpses of all the Incredibles, Frozone, and Voyd all using their powers to round him up. This causes all the Jack-Jack copies to meld together into one, creating an oversized Jack-Jack Audio-Animatronic, towering over riders. He’s given cookies by Edna Mode to calm him down, which you can smell, as he shrinks down. The ride’s exit now shows monitors displaying active Supers, profiling them. One of them is none other than Blarion Mercurial. You may recognize him from somewhere… There is also a listing of Syndrome’s victims on another, hidden screen, along with a display of active supervillains, and a video of the Deavors behind bars, bickering and commenting on the ride.

The gift shop is now named Nomanisan Souvenirs, decorated with a statue of Mirage upfront, featuring ride merchandise and wares relating to Nomanisan Island, such as a snowglobe, a charm necklace, and a miniature Stratogale memorial statue. Outside, there are window displays showing scenes of Nomanisan Island. Lemurs frolic around the trees. The palm trees sway. You may also get your ride photo here.

So, what do you all think?
