I thought Incredibles 2 was one of the better sequels of the last 8 or so years but I’m not sure that’s saying much.

I thought Incredibles 2 was one of the better sequels of the last 8 or so years but I’m not sure that’s saying much.

92% certified fresh, $1.2B worldwide.

I preferred the original, but if 3 can match 2 then it’ll be a big win.

2 is what is wrong with sequels. Toy Story 3 is what’s right with sequels.

2 is an unoriginal uninspired story that didn’t need to be told and didn’t advance the story in any meaningful way. Individual characters didn’t behave as expected and the villains didn’t either (but villains are a separate issue, not necessarily sequel specific).

Audiences may have liked it, but they also like Frozen 2.

I don’t have an issue with sequels, but there’s a clear difference between a sequel designed to cash in on a phenomenon and a sequel designed to continue or add to a story in a meaningful and deserved way.

Other than the name "num num" why does it need to be updated? Does an older Jack Jack not like cookies anymore? Even the "fire Jack Jack" doesn't need to be updated, as that can still be a 2-9ish yr old representation of Jack Jack.
