Pre-Trip Incomplete but a Work in the Making!

I’ve never done a trip report or a pre-trip report1 We've been to Disney 20 plus times, but always with family members. Only one trip had both of our married children and spouses, and all three grandchildren. Several trips have been with grandkids as toddlers, adolescents, teens and college age. Of course, DH and I footed the costs. Well, NOT THIS TIME! He and I leave home at 3:30 a.m. Aug. 6 for a 6:10 am take off from RDU and MCO arrival at 7:43 a.m.

Before anyone says anything about the heat, we already know! We chose this time of year so that many public schools will be back in session and vacationers heading home or already there. Having done Disney trips in the past during several different months, we pretty much know where to go and how to get cool when the need arises. We even sat out Tropical Storm Alberto all day in Riverside’s River Roost once.

So, these are the bookings and we aren't sure we will make anymore, other than the LLs at 7 days out .

Arrival: Aug 6, to PO-Riverside (our very favorite for a number of reasons). No park this day but some easy plans to catch up from earlier hours; definitely Disney Springs and maybe some pool time. At 6 pm. we head over to AKL-Jambo for a stroll out to Arusha Rock, roast a marshmallow or two, then head in to Victoria Falls for a pre-dinner wine. Our BOMA seating is for 8 pm. We like this time in BOMA because many have already eaten and left and there is no need to feel rushed. Not as many small children are still there and it's a great time to chat with the Cast Members. Afterwards, take the resort bus from AKL to Disney Springs, then Sassagoula water taxi to POR (IF we can get to Disney Springs before boats stop—otherwise take bus from DS to POR).

Aug. 7: To AK for early hours - K. Safari, Gorilla Falls, Kali River Rapids (if open), Expedition Everest, LL for Flight of Passage (hopefully early in the day), Festival of Lion King, Feathered Friends show and a quick trip to Conservation Station b/c we always do! Head back to POR for short break before hopping over to MK where DH and I have some unfinished business with Cap'n Hook. Once when our 3 yo granddaughter met him at his "spot", she said to him, "my daddy said you ain't nuttin!" Hook chested up to her dad with his threatening look. We want to inform him that she has been in Witness Protection from Disney Villains program since then and he and his lackeys can stop searching for her. At MK we have reservations for the MK Fireworks Sweets and Seats at 9 on Tomorrowland Terrace; might even work in some classic Disney attractions before check-in.

Aug 8: EE for Studios. I suspect this will be all day for us. Hope to get a reasonable LL for RoR, but as ALWAYS Tower, Rock n RC, Toy Story Mania, BatB show, Star Tours (we love it), Indiana Jones, the new Little Mermaid Musical Show and as much as we can see and do. We have Hollywood Brown Derby at 7 p.m. for our proverbial “must-have Cobb Salad entree” and finish off with Fantasmic (if not rained out.)
**I must insist on DH doing the planning for Aug. 9, 11, &12 so this may be the full extent of a pre-trip report (IYKYK!)
No park day is Sunday 10th, except Starlight Safari over at AKL at 8:30 pm. Aug. 11 DOES include Rose&Crown Fireworks Package at EPCOT. Well, this is all I know at present time.
