In-Room Christmas Tree

We are flying down, so we don't have the ability to bring in a Christmas tree, lights, decor, etc. Are there any local companies that will bring in and decorate a Christmas tree for our Wilderness Lodge room? Disney offers a 4ft. tree that is $400 and $99 to ship home, but I am not really looking for something that expensive nor am I worried about having a souvenir. Any ideas? I would love to continue the resort's holiday spirit into our room!

We will have a car, but I would rather not waste the time or have to worry about what to do with it all afterwards. I don't want to bother with having to ship it all home. I thought maybe a florist or other company may offer the service.

The two times we went to WDW during the holiday season I packed a little 12 or 18 inch tree in my carryon bag. It didn't take a whole lot of room and I made flat paper and pipe cleaner ornaments for it. It was a lot cheaper than buying one at WDW. You can get some smaller trees at craft stores too if you want to be festive and it is cheaper than the Disney price. I also took some Christmas window clings to decorate the room. The pictures are of the trees I've taken with.

I hear what your saying but for most people, if your paying $400-$1000/per night for a room, what's another $400?

It's not for everyone but neither are deluxe resorts. (Not saying everyone in a deluxe would buy this but in sure most could if they wanted too.)

I saw an in-room celebration at Pop Century for Halloween several weeks ago (window was decorated). These things can be delivered to any room. Yeah, if you're staying in a deluxe, I get it. But that tree looks more like $100 tops.

I've been doing a little looking around and there are several places online where you can order from a local florist something fresh like these:

Anywhere from $89-$200 depending on size.

Oh yea, I know its for every resort, I've done the celebration at a value before myself. I was just saying the target market (asumming here) for a $400 4ft Xmas tree would be the ones spending thousands on just a room and not really the value resort guests.

One year when staying at Wilderness Lodge we participated in a "tree chain" organized on another message board. Maybe you can look into something like that.

Here's the gist: First person brought the tree, lights, mini ornaments on their trip, say Nov 25-30. They then boxed it and labeled it for person#2 who picked it up at the front desk and had it say Dec 1-10. Boxed and relabeled for person 3 to pickup Dec 12-Dec 18. (You get the idea). I was the last one to get the tree on Dec 24-26. Original owner of the tree had no interest in getting it back as it was an inexpensive tree and inexpensive decorations so they told me to just keep it. I still have it and use it at work.

what about shipping a box down and then leaving it behind? We have left lots of stuff behind over the years. We always try to catch a mousekeeper and if we don't we leave a note saying these items can be taken or pitched that we willingly left them behind.

OR what I would really do is fill a suitcase with my decorations and then leave them behind and use the suitcase for new purchases.

We have done multiple Christmas trips to WDW. Usually we stick to the small tabletop tree in the room, twinkle lights, garland and window clings. We used the girls Santa hats purchased at WDW for their stockings.
