Impressions of Magic Kingdom

On Tuesday May 30, 2013, I along with my wife, 4 year old girl and 2 year old boy visited the Magic Kingdom. It was my first visit since April 1992. My very visit was the 4th of July week of 1986. We were on a 8 Day cruise on the Disney Magic with a One Day Park Hopper ticket. Honestly, from some things I read here I was a little scared of what we might find there. It was however, an awesome day. The bus dropped us off in time to get our cards scanned and we were waiting for the 9:00 opening at 8:30. We headed to Fanstasyland because of the kids... I thought it was important to get there before the day got too busy. We walked on Peter Pan, Its a Small World, Under the Sea, and a visit with Ariel. Had a Pork Shank. By the time we got to Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, we had to start waiting. It was about 20 minutes. We rode Dumbo, almost walked on. Just had to wait one ride cycle. I really like what they did with the Dumbo. Barnstormer, and my wife and 2 year old rode Dumbo again. Tomorrowland was probssbly my least favorite of our time there, I could really do without the Stitch and Monsters stuff, probably because I am OLD and liked it the way it used to be. :D We had lunch at Cosmic Ray's. The $10 Pork Shank I had earlier was WAY BETTER than the $10 bacon burger I had for lunch. My 4 year old who loves Stitch wanted to see that attraction so I went with her and left my wife and 2 year old on a bench to wait. We walked right up and only had to wait at the show doors for a few minutes. I wouldn't waste my time again and I sure wouldn't wait for a long time in line for it. Headed over to Adventureland to get the Jungle Cruise in before the day got too late. By the time we pushed the stroller over to that side of the park the 2 year old was out cold and the 4 year old started to act tired. We went ahead and got in line though and it was a 45 minute wait. I am sure great things are coming, but I was surprised with all the tarps in Adventureland. After the Jungle Cruise the 4 year old was really interested in getting her toy and then go back to the ship. I wanted to at least see a bit more park, so we walked around past Splash Mountain into Liberty Square. I noticed that POTC was marked with a 5 minute wait, but my traveling parting was not going to have any of that. Wife went in the Christmas Store and then off to find a toy on Main Street. After a purchase of two Lady's as well as a few other things in the Emporium we bught a Coke, Frozen Lemonade, and popcorn at the front gate and headed for a 4:00 bus.

I would have really like to have stayed longer and been able to see more, but the kids really were done. Hopefully soon we will be able to make a dedicated WDW trip and have time for all 4 parks. Not to mention being able to return to wherever we are staying for a nap during the day. So, even though I hear alot about what is wrong... I really had a great time and can't wait to return. :D
