 Hi everyone!
I thought I would post a few things for those like us who hadn't been to WDW in a couple of years. These are just a few things that we noticed. Our last trip was in the summer of '02. Unfortunately Indiana is just too far away from Fla!!
This trip we went to Epcot and MK. At Epcot (PLEEASE don't flame me here), we really felt like SSE needed a rehab. The ride itself was very bumpy and they REALLY need to put some padding in the headrests for when it rests you backward. My head was hurting :hammer: !! Also, it seemed like the attraction itself needed some work and updates. Journey with Figment - DH's opinion was that it was the worst Disney attraction he has been on and was a waste of time. I thought Figment was cute, but that there was so much potential with this theme that could have been done. Got to do Honey I shrunk (etc.) for the first time. It was pretty good, but I did NOT care for the mice hitting my legs effect so probably won't care to do that again! DH rode M:S, thought it was awesome! World Showcase seemed a little slow (for lack of a better word). Very little entertainment going on except for a comedy act in Italy.
At MK, Mickey's PhilharMagic was AWESOME!!! We saw it twice. If you haven't seen it, you absolutely must! Got to see inside Space Mountain with the lights on - bad choice for me since I'm a little skittish on roller coasters and hadn't ridden it for the day yet. It looked much more intimidating with the lights!! Buzz guns need fixed! Rode twice, each time one of us had a gun that didn't work right. Saw Hall of Presidents for the first time (always had kids with us who refused to see it before). Animatronics are awesome but the movie in the beginning was pretty bad for Disney standards :snore: . Splash Mountain seemed to be working great, got to see the jumping Brer Rabbit, never saw it before. Only thing we noticed was that there were no cannons of water shooting from the sides. I totally didn't mind it, but was surprised when they didn't go off.
Wishes was GREAT! Just don't stand in the Liberty Square area just to the left of the castle. We thought it would be a good spot but there was a big tree right in the way.
SpectroMagic was good as always, except for when this rude family came and pushed their way in front of us at the last minute, stepping on my feet and hitting us with their stroller, when we had been waiting in our curbside spot for 30 minutes! DH was really mad and looked the lady straight in the eye and told her they were being very rude. She replied in another language, don't know what she said but he pushed me in front of them and crowded them out (don't mess with DH! )
Ate at the Earl of Sandwich in DD. Really good hot sandwiches.
Overall, WDW without kids was a lot of fun, but I felt very guilty. Was fun to do once, next time they'll be with us, though!
