Remember this? Well, the subject for Imagineering Challenge is... What will replace the 20K Lagoon? Post your ideas, and DETAILS about it here. Don't just post "Villain Landz!" cause then you'll be disqualified. Ready... Set... GO!

I think it will become a Winnie the Pooh Meet and Greet for a while.

But then, it will become A c-ticket ride based on a disney movie. And it will NOT involve water because the lagoon (whatever) was drained.

Okay, here's my plan.

1. Fantasyland should expand with 2 new dark rides (Hunchback and Beauty and the Beast) and a new show (Sleeping Beauty)

2. Toontown should expand, with new, unique attractions and meet'n'greets.

3. The Shadowlands, complete with a miniature village with Villain Mountain looming in the distance will take up the rest of the space. Shows will include one themed to Cruella, Hades, Hook, Maleficent, and the Evil Witch, with Chernabog being the main focus on Villain Mountain (although lots of other villains are in on that one).

100 Acre Woods Meet and Greet will be built next to Ariel's Grotto. Then, in 2007 construction on the Bald Mountain water-coaster will begin for a late 2008, early 2009 opening.

Two dark rides combining the latest technology with classic Disney Imagineering based on the Disney films Bambi and The Fox & The Hound. Since the main characters of those two and of The Many Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh are animals, they would all perfectly complement one another, creating a sort of rustic, sylvan sub-area.

Is there a price? I'm planning to put in either Destiny Islands or The Enchanted Forest or even Neverland
DESTINY ISLANDS sounds good--but maybe a KINGDOM HEARTS attraction should go in DISNEY STUDIOS. Just a thought. I like the ENCHANTED FOREST idea--maybe including my BAMBI and THE FOX AND THE HOUND darkrides ;). It fits in well with THE MANY ADVENTURES OF WINNIE THE POOH. However, NEVERLAND just shows a lack of originality--there's already a PETER PAN attraction in FANTASYLAND, and FINDING NEVERLAND, like KINGDOM HEARTS, belongs in DISNEY STUDIOS.
On a side note, pertaining to DISNEY STUDIOS: Bring Back SUPERSTAR TELEVISION and THE MONSTER SOUND SHOW!

What should go there is a "Villains Mountain" thrill ride, themed to either Chernabog or Malificent with appearances by other classic villains.

What will go there is likely two seperate dark rides, slightly more advanced than Winnie the pooh. My guess is a "peter pan's flight" style Aladdin ride, where the cars look like magic carpets(We all know that Dumbo rip-off in Adventureland is just a stopgap measure), and a Beauty and the Beast dark ride where you ride in audio-animatronic household objects as you pass through scenes from the movie. Both will be well done and popular, but nothing spectacular.

I agree with the statement on the Magic Carpets of Aladdin ride--however, an Aladdin dark ride really belongs in Adventureland only, not Fantasyland, not Asia in the Animal Kingdom, not Morocco in Epcot. It belongs in only Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom. Nevertheless, I'm all for it, of course. The Beauty and the Beast dark ride idea should be scrapped--after all, it is already represented well in Belle's Storytime at Fairytale Garden in Fantasyland, and also in the Beauty and the Beast Live On Stage musical in Disney Studios. I'll say it again--Bambi and The Fox and the Hound deserve to be represented in Fantasyland. Along with Winnie the Pooh, these dark rides can create a sort of foresty sub-area, complementing each other well.

The original plans for Fantasyland names it the place where the characters from the Disney animated movies would be represented in, not Adventureland, not Frontierland, not Tomorrowland but in Fantasyland. i believe we should focus more on the timeless masterpieces that people from whatever era will surely recognize and enjoy.

Oh and I think Aladdin can perfectly fit in to Fantasyland just as much as "Small World" is a perfect fit in Fantasyland.

And not offense but "The Fox and the Hound" wasn't really that much of a classic neither was it that much memorable and I think the parks could do well without it.

Beauty and the Beast doesn't really have any solid representation in The Magic Kingdom even though it is one of Disney's most acclaimed classics, Belle's storytime hardly does the film any justice neither would a traditional dark ride.

Mermaid Lagoon would definately fit in perfectly as a replacement for 20k and would certainly add to the charm and magic of Fantasyland not to mention permanently integrating a part of the post-Walt renaisance era classics into the park.

I still say a Magic Forest themed area would be a perfect addition to Fantasyland, it could be home to Bambi, Fairies, Beast's Castle, Grandmother Willow, The Seven Dwarves, Briar Rose, or even the Villains.
