This Pavilian at Epcot has the most promise to what it can be but budget issues leave the current Pavilian dead. Figment or not though, this pavilian can become something so amazing, that jaws will always drop.
Destruction-
Tear everything down. The Theatre, the show building, and outside. The only thing remaining would be the shell of the two pyramids. But those would basically have to be entirely rebuilt.
Ressurection-
The new Pavilian will rise out of the wreckage of the current one. A new modern design will rule the pavilian.
Pyramids-
Instead of being a bunch of glass triangles layed over a metal structure a new grander and simpler design will take hold. The Structure would be only on the edges of the pyramids leaving the planes with nothing but glass. The new glass will seem to have giant cracks arranged in a certain futureistic pattern. The inside and outside of these cracks will be layed out with Various live-wire strings. This is so during the night, the cracks glow different colors ever 30 seconds or so. The bottom floor below the Pyramids will be all nice and open and feature a nice and large plaza. Several elevators and escalators will take guests up to the indoor balcony. This balcony will feature a neat futuristic design and have flashes of light that all head toward the Imageworks.
The outside part of the Pyramids will also feature balconies. These ill feature vegetation all around and there will be an outdoor elevator as well as a long and wide wheelchair ramp going around the edges of the Pyramid. The bottom structure below the glass pyramids will be large metal structures resembling crystals. These would shoot outward giving a really neat look. It would resemble Frank Ghery's work in a way.
The new Dark Ride-
This will be located in a newly built 2 story show building where the current is. If there is room, the building will be larger and the building might even be 3 stories. Most of the second floor though would be reserved for imageworks. Anyway, for the new ride, guests enter into a dark tunnel as lights and such flash around. They soon enter a large funhouse like place with many turns and such. The line would be done in a style of Dueling Dragons or Indiana Jones where it is all really a long line with no switchbacks. Fastpass would run parralel to the stand-by line.
After a long time going through the line, guests will finally enter a theatre. This would be located on the floor below the Imageworks right before that part. Here guests would learn about the use of imagination and such done to the same style as the Tommorowland segments on Disneyland in the 50's. The show soon talks about dreams and such and imagination. It soon personifies the figment of imagination as Figment and talks about how this can lead to dreams. The show then gives figment a companion to find these dreams (reverse of the original show). The two characters then introduce themselves and the theatre doors open to the loading dock for the ride.
Here guests board a cars with a back of 4 and front of 3. Each are sent out in groups of 4. These cars though are quite different than the current incarnation. They are not trackless but instead run on an EMV system.
The new ride would be similiar to the original in many ways describing imagination but there would also be different themes and such. The main message though is that if you use your imagination, you can create many amazing things. The ride goes through a multilevel track through many well done sets. Several time the track splits to enable longer show scenes. The car groups though will always stay together. (they can rotate).
The very ending has guests entering a speed-tunnel with the screens on the side but soon it goes dark and only bright lights flash by. Soon a large air-blast is heard and guests appear in a stary room much like the current version. Here then they unload.
More is to come.
