I'm STILL enjoying WDW!

There is nothing like landing in a plane in St. Lucia, there is nothing like the Dry tortugas off the florida Keys, there is nothing like Niagara falls, There is nothing like the northern lights. Also, there is nothing like Disneyland! If traveling for work has taught me anything, its that everyone thinks their favorite city/attraction/food is the best. I NEVER thought I would enjoy an all inclusive beach vacation, but thats where our honeymoon was, and that blew away and Disney vacation I ever had. I once thought MK was the coolest theme park ever, until i went to disneyland, and i am sure one of the international parks would make me change my mind again.

Very true.
I usually don't try and compare places mainly because I try to make my vacations different. I love, love love Ocean City at the Jersey shore. I have had some of my best vacations there but how do you compare a beach vacation to a theme park vacation.

Same with Paris and Lisbon. lol it's interesting because Niagara falls was one of my worst vacations. I found the area around the falls tacky and dirty.

One of the issues I think Disney suffers from especially in recent times is that it's definitely one of the places where people literally expect to have an "awesome, magical" vacation. I hate those commercials where the cm's wiggle her little pen and the famillies dreams all come try. That sets up enormous expectation.

We didn't start going until I was in my 30's with our own kids (except for one trip to Disneyland in the 80's that I don't really remember). I'm not blind to the "issues" and we do go other places, but it's my favorite place to be! My whole family loves it, even our grown kids (15, 20, 21, and 21). 99 days and counting!!

My first trip as an adult was in 2012 and since then I've been back in 2014, 2015, 2016, and will be back next month. I still love Disney although I do see the changes since my first 2012 trip and not all of them positive from my perspective. But I still want to go. My biggest problem is justifying the ever increasing cost to my husband. He goes to WDW to make me happy but he wants to go other places now especially since WDW is losing value in his mind. Next year, we compromised on a Disney Cruise, although he has been complaining about the cost of that and being able to do another cruise line cheaper. He's been wanting to go to Universal since Wizarding World of Harry Potter opened so we have plans to do that in 2020. My next trip to WDW probably won't be until 2021 for their 50th anniversary. After that, he said if I want to go, then I can go alone and we can take separate vacations. So while I'm still enjoying WDW and able to look over all the negatives my husband is not and that makes things so much more difficult.
