I'm officially nocturnal.

To manage my crazy family's schedule I must be up by 3am if I want time to work out. Between getting everybody ready for work and school it can be quite insane in my house at strange hours. My younger ds has allergies which means getting his food heated and containerized for him to take. And with our upcoming trip my dh is also packing lunch to save money (and it's healthier) which means I do that also. It's a good thing I like strange hours! LOL

Left to my own devices, I'll wake up between noon and two every day. I never knew this about myself until I was forced into the position of not working for a long time. I'm a slacker!

If you have no real schedule to keep, do as you please. Most of life is heavily scheduled. Might as well take advantage of it when it isn't. :)

I have also done nocturnal work. Good points, bad points. :)

The easiest way to switch a sleep schedule is to stay up and be tired. Keep busy or else you fall asleep. Best way to get tired at night is to exercise outside - swim, walk, whatever - during the day. That's my advice.

When we planned to go to Hawaii, we planned it in June so that my brother and I could have plenty of time to adjust back. 3:30 or 4 am became a normal bedtime and noon or 1 pm was a perfectly acceptable time to get up. This lasted for about three weeks. I had to get up at 6 am one day to go somewhere, and I slept in the car and walked around in a daze for most of the day. It was awful, and I STILL didn't get to sleep until 3 am.

I'm an older teen, so usually in the summer I get very nocturnal. 1 or 2 am is a perfectly acceptable bedtime. I did the 3 am extra magic hours at MK once. It was fun, and I was tired for several days.

I'm definitely a morning person. I find it a bit amusing that I'm probably up and starting my day when some of you are just ending yours. We should meet up for coffee or something!
I'm going to Hawaii in June, so that will probably be entirely true...six hour time difference.

I've been off my grant since January and waiting for NJIT to let me know if I have funding for June...I've become an insomniac in the mean time...I feel your pain, for once I'd just like to have a long, solid nights sleep.
