Hey everyone, just wanted to post to say that my family and I are leaving tommorow morning for DISNEYLAND!!! I just wanted to say thanks for all the great feedback over the past couple of months. We really can not wait to leave!!! We have so much planned when we are there. Our first full day (my 21st birthday) we are eating breakfast at the Plaza Inn then an early dinner at Blue Bayou and then we are doing the 10:30 Fantasmic! Desert Buffet. We also have the Walt Tour planned in there later in the week. And we just ordered our tickets online for the Warner Bros. Tour. I've heard great things about it on this website and others. I really hope we get to see some Gilmore Girls sets!!!! I will be sure to take lots of pictures!!!!!!!!

Just two more quick questions...

1) What time is the rededication ceremony every morning? I have heard conflicting reports from various sources.

2) A friend of my mom's who works for TDS and goes to DL every year was telling us that the last character greeting of the day Mickey and the gang come out in their 50th Anniversary attire. Is this true, if so where can they be found?

Any other interesting tidbits I should know about before we leave please respond or PM me! Thanks

The Disneyland Re-Dedication ceremony is held every morning at 10:00am sharp, in the Town Square on the steps of the Main Street railroad station. Stand on the curb across the street facing the station, and you'll get a nice little show. It's not Fantasmic!, but it's a clever little ceremony. The Disneyland Band plays, the Mayor makes a speech, Mickey and a gaggle of Characters come out to say hello, and then they play Walt's opening day speech. For a Disney Geek, it's a goosebumpy moment. 10:00am sharp, 7 days a week.

When the Characters appear inside the Park to greet Guests, they always have their fancy 50th outfits on. Mickey and Minnie have especially snazzy outfits that really sparkle in the warm, golden California sun.

When you meet Mickey Mouse in his house at Toontown, his outfit varies as to which soundstage you are meeting him on; they match his outfit to the theme of the room the CM sends you to to meet n' greet Mickey. And of course during Fantasmic! and parades the Characters have special outfits designed to mesh well with their surroundings and props.

But out in the Park, just wandering around signing autographs, the Characters always have their 50th finery on. The Princesses usually have just a broach or a necklace that has a gorgeous 50th logo and it's designed to compliment their normal outfits. But the animal Characters have outfits that were redesigned for the 50th specifically. And again, Mickey and Minnie really have the fanciest of the fancy. Mickey Mouse, or one of the other main characters, can often be found near the Mad Hatter shop near the exit of the 50th Anniversary Show in the Main Street Opera House.

And don't miss that 50th show! It's a good thing to save for the heat of the afternoon when the line for Peter Pan is an hour long.

Don't forget to order a desert at the Blue Bayou. The nifty pirate extras that come with your desert, made from spun sugar, can be carefully wrapped up and taken home and they make an unusual souvenir.

Please let us know how it all goes!
