[Snapper Bean]

9 nights at the Grand Californian Resort. Using DVC points to cover the room. Nothing like making a reservation. Very much looking forward to my first trip to Disneyland in 28 years. Other than the obvious...anybody have any don't miss suggestions for restaurants or LA sightseeing?

Sightseeing – I don’t know if you’re a fan of baseball, but the Dodger's Stadium is a must for anyone in L.A…it’s one of the best L.A. has to offer. China Town is not far from there either or Olvera Street (famous for its shopping and old Mexican culture).
Oh, if you do head out there, to avoid L.A. traffic, let me suggest taking the train Metrolink, from either Anaheim or Fullerton stations into Los Angeles Union Station. Olvera Street is literally across the street from the LA station, and Phillipe's (french dip sandwiches. A not to miss! It's a true L.A. restaurant) is just one block north on Alameda.

Hollywood is worth a visit. You can check out the Chinese Theater and even watch a movie (it's gorgeous inside) and don’t forget to glance up and take pictures of the Hollywood Sign. I always recommend walking around Hollywood looking at the Walk of Fame, seeing the Ripley's Believe It Or Not Museum. Hollywood has been under a major urban renewal, so it’s not as seedy.

There is also Venice Beach and Santa Monica "boardwalk" for a beach life expierence. The Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach is nice and fun for the kids, and the Queen Mary in Long Beach can be fun and creepy. (I recommend the ghost tours)
