I'm back from WDW!

Here I am, back in New York. Now I'll tell you all how it went, since I know you're dying to know. :lookaroun

I stayed at the Contemporary tower in room 4741 on the 11th floor, and the view was amazing! I could see the Magic Kingdom, TTC, Polynesian, & Grand Floridian from my balcony. I could also see the fireworks and the water pageant.

While driving past Port Orleans French Quarter, I noticed the letters are missing from the gates on the sides of the driveway. What's going on? I thought it was just getting refurbished.

I have 28 pins now. I need a less expensive hobby.

Did the E-Ride night on May 24th. Got to ride the Astro Orbiter for the first time in years.

My car on Test Track pooped out once we got outside, and we went through the entire outside portion *very* slowly. The worst part was when the car goes around the front of the building. I thought I was going to fall out; I didn't realize the curves were that banked. We got to go on the ride as soon as we came back inside.

Bought $30 monorail poster, $10 Fantasia poster, and $28 set of six Fantasyland posters. I don't know why I needed all those posters. But they're all very nice.

The Great Movie Ride and Winnie The Pooh were both closed.

Went to MGM during the Star Wars weekend. The most exciting part was the Storm Troopers on the roof of the entrance to the park.

Carousel Of Progress and The Timekeeper were not open on Memorial Day weekend. Grr!

I am thoroughly annoyed with people who insist on bringing enormous strollers onto the buses and monorails. Umbrella strollers, ok. Small strollers that fold up quickly and easily, ok. 5 foot by 3 foot big metal box monster stroller, not ok. Complaining at the bus driver because your enormous stroller does not fit on the bus, not ok. Do not bring the big metal box monster stroller onto the already crowded bus leaving Typhoon Lagoon at closing time, it is a bad idea! <end rant>

I took a lot of pictures. I'll post them on my site once I get through doing all the "I just came home after being away for 2 weeks" things.

I think I need a nap.

I have always taken the little umbrella strollers when the kids were little. It was small and could hang it from my arm while standing on the bus. I must say though, I always had to have a brand new one each year, the wheels on them got worn down to nothing every time we went. The year we flew down, I went to the Wal-Mart and bought one for $12 instead of taking it on the plane and then gave it to someone before we left. Was still cheaper then renting one and the people we gave it to were so appreciative that it made it even better.

WELCOME TO MY WORLD!!!

LOL... I have to deal with that all the time. It's really not so much the size of the stroller though, as the amount of disorganized junk they carry in it. And they get angry with me because I make them take thier child out and fold the stroller. Sorry folks, that's the law. I've actually had some folks refuse to take thier kid out of the stroller... So I just popped the parking brake, put the bus into neutral, and turned off the engine. It was folded pretty quickly after that, albeit with a bit of mumbling. :)

By the way... in regards to French Quarter... the signs were removed because the resort is going to be closed for at least 2 years for the renovations. Having the signs up would just confuse guests.

You know, my mom said "Ask Tyler how he feels about people bringing enormous strollers onto the buses" while we were in WDW (I told her about you since you drove a monorail  ) I think they should make stricter rules about the size of the strollers you're allowed to bring on the transportation. Bless your heart for having the patience to deal with these people everyday; if I were you, I would have lost it by now. :p

Thanks for the heads up about POFQ. I was afraid it was closing permanently or something!

Being a parent of a 3 year old and and infant this stroller issue is something that every parent really needs to think about BEFORE getting to Disney. We too own a Cadillac stroller. But it was one of the first things we thought about when planning for our trips to WDW. You can't fold up and tote a monolith stroller, a baby, and 16 bags of unncessary necessities. PLAN AHEAD: buy a small, cheap stroller(there are plenty at Walmart) that fold up, allow the child to recline and also have shade and storage and
are still more than manageable. Even if you drive your own car to the parks every day you are going to have to get all of that junk on a tram. THINK!!!!

Ponder this: Would you get on your local city bus with all of that junk? Disney busses are just as much public transportation as those are.

AMEN!! :sohappy: A lot of people just don't think. Why in the world would anyone want to cart around a monster stroller, anyhow? I know I like to take as little as possible to the parks.

Yes they are even refurbishing that and also I dont think they want people turning down any of those roads by accident.....
