I'm a Fat Guy, Part 4

Sorry for putting this in the WDW Category, but:

People in the NJ area: I am soon going to Great Adventure for the first time since moving to NJ. I haven't been to a non-disney theme park since my senior year of High School (1996) back in Northern California (Paramount's Great America). I weigh about 325 lbs., about 10 pounds less than the last time I rode a non-disney coaster. I am also very long in the torso and very broad shouldered. On my last trip, I remember distinctly having major problems on 2 coasters.

A "Wooden" coaster type ride: the lap bar fit very, very tightly, and the girl next to me felt very unsafe as she had LOTS of room.

And a hanging coaster where you had to buckle the lap bar and shoulder harness together.

The Shoulder harness only coasters seemed to be fine in my memory.

SO: those who have been to Great Adventure: Will I be OK, and which rides should I avoid as to not cause a scene when loading?? (I fear Superman: Ultimate Flight will be a no-go)

Thanks in Advance

Scott

Hi!
Where in NJ are u from?

I've been to Six Flag's Great Adventure many times, and I've been on all the coasters except the new Superman one. On most (if not all) coasters there is a designated seat for larger guests (The only reason I know is because I got put in that seat one on accident on Medussa and nearly fell out). Just ask an employee and they'll be able to direct you to the correct seat.

The same holds true for the coasters in Hersheypark PA (which is much better than Great Adventure.)

Have fun!

I´ve been the girl with lots of room in Tower of Terror and it was the only time I was really scared! :dazzle:

If I were you, I´d be terrified of those coasters that go upside down too! I never thought about it, until you mentionned them. I am not a rollercoaster person... :dazzle:

Good luck Scott!

On B&M rollercoaster (they seat 4 accross) look for the seat with 2 seatbelts. It is usually in row 3 or 4.

Most coasters now should have individual lap bars, instead of the old style of 1 lap bar per row.
