WHOA!

Well wasn't I surprised tonight when I watched RoE? There was no inferno barge in the lagoon and the air launches failed. I didn't even notice the inferno barge wasn't there until its very un-likely absence during chaos...

Looked very different. But still a very good show even without it.

The perimeter shots usualy fail, or are cut out completely, if the winds around the lagoon are too high.

Thank you for the information on the perimeter shots. I was actually referring to the first two shells that are launched electronically with computer chips.

I was kinda irritated that the Inferno Barge and the "big bang" fireworks at the beginning as well as the "rocket fireworks" at the very end were not working all last week...it must be something major if this is the second week in a row without any of them...I remember last year, for one of the showings, the Inferno Barge was not working, and during the points in the show where it was supposed to be on fire, nothing else was really happening. This year, however, they seemed to have stuck more fireworks in those areas so it flows better...leads me to believe this is a long-term problem...I also seem to have noticed more "screamer" fireworks during Celebration...I like those changes.

You Have A Point.... Now that I think back on it, we had no Inferno Barge when we saw it back on the 15th of Feb. Anyone think it wont be coming back?

I think disney spent too much money on it and I think it's too popular not to be fixed...when I saw it on the fifteenth, the barge was still out there, just not working, but the rest of the week, the barge was gone--I presume they were working on it

Rocket fireworks? I am assuming you mean the Sea Wall Effects (the fireworks that leave from the edge of each country around the lagoon)...Those are sometimes taken out due to the wind conditions in the lagoon.

I am pretty sure the inferno barge is being re-habbed as we speak.

A little side note: Fountain of Nations is dry again.

Anyone in on the inside....?

Anyone in on the inside know if these absences are going to be corrected before the heavy summer season picks up. (ie: June) Surely they have to be fixed if the show is indeed as popular as it seems. Oh well.

Interesting...
The barge is the best part is like taking away the end of Spaceship Earth. I beleave it has to do with leaking of the gas, that's all, or motor problems (that's why it was stuck in the middle of the lake). If it was something small, they would still use it or discontinue the feature.

I think it is because of the draught here in the east. But I never understod why they turn that off since the fountain recycles water. But that is why it was off in the Summer they claim.

If certain features like the perimeter shots and the inferno barge are not re-instated, then the show's popularity will drop like a couple of Enron stocks. Disney should never tamper with the most magical aspects of this show (the perimeter shots) and get away with it. I cannot imagine being satisfied with RoE without them. If the promenade launches have been removed permanently, then the show is truly dead.

Hi ther everybody,

I am afraid we have some inaccurate information being released..

I saw RoE on 3/1/02...Which was this past Friday. The Inferno barge was indeed out of show...HOWEVER, the Sea Walls (Promenade launchers) were all very much working when I was there and launched there pyro during show.

If you were referring to the launchers on top of Great Britain( Big Bang Effect)...I am not aware of that cost-cutting measure.

Hmmm how strange...I was told they were cut. Perhaps they had just ran out of shells and didnt get more in for the 4 month period that I never saw them launch.

It wouldnt make much sense to cut the seawall launchers or the air launchers from the show as a cost cutting measure. The seawall pyro isnt particularly expensive (in comparison with other show elements). The expensive part of the air launch system is the actual hardware that does the launch, not the pyro - so the money has already been spent on that with the initial install.

My guess is a combination of wind (cutting the sea wall pyro), and maintenence for the Inferno Barge.

Yes it does Recycle but a certain Portion of the water can evaporate, espically in the hot summer climate

Actually each shell from the air launcher in the beginning has a small computer chip inside instead of a fuse to make the timing more accurate. I am sure they are more expensive than normal shells, but wind is also a factor with the air launch since they come from outside the lagoon.

But...I saw Reflections of Earth four times and those elements were not working any of those times--there was no wind 3 of those times. I am guessing they were just doing maintenance work on everything the week I was there if those fireworks are back now. Is the Big Bang Effect still gone? As for the Fountain of Nations, it was on the first week of my visit and off the last few days as rehab began
