Ill tempered people outside the parks

I don't know if this has ever occurred to anybody else, but several times when I have gone outside to do shopping or whatever, I'll start talking to some of the people and I am amazed at some of the comments these people make about Disney.

For example, one lady I got chit chatting with stated that Disney mistreats their animals by starvation and whipping.
Another stated that WDW is just a walking "death trap" with all their safety violations.
Both of these people have nothing but praise for Universal and Sea World etc.

There have been others too, but whats up with people like this?

Well, since both of those things are totaly wrong I would just ignore them. Some people just have nothing better to do.

i had an encounter, little over two years ago, with a woman as we were waiting for our bus to take us back to AKL. though I never spoke to her, she made plenty of rude comments.

The line was fairly long as you'd guess at the end of the day at MK, and we were waiting. My grandfather, who is now over 80 years old, can no longer walk around disney world with ease. heck for as long as he's been going with us to disneya nd such, i've NEVER seen him walk and alays used a wheelchair. The moron in front of me started making comments such as: "They should get their own bus" for the ones in the wheelchair. Now, seeing as I have a prosthetic leg myself, this really, REALLY ticked me off tot he point where i wanted to say "Yeah and why don't you just shut up?". I didn't though and she proceeded to amke more rude comments espically once my grandfather got onto the bus. He did walk but he can only go short distances. I had to get my mom to stand in front of me before i did something.

Just think of it as one less nasty person we have to deal with INSIDE the parks:D !!! I'm glad I very rarely leave Disney property once I get there. Much nicer people (for the most part) on the inside.

That is just a very miserable person who would make comments like that. VERY LOW self esteem. I probably would have had to say something. One day, she is going to be older or injured and need a little extra help with some things.......but of course, I'm sure she will think that it is OK for HER to get the help.....just not anyone else. I think you said it...MORON! :hammer:

just remember:

"most people are idiots"

This will help you out some.

And to build off of that, the more idiots there are who have warped ideas about Disney, the better off we all will be when there are less idiots to encounter in the parks.:D

People have a tendency to take things they dont like and attribute the worst things to them unsubstantially. The people obviously dont like Disney, so they just say the worst things they can think of, such as them being cruel to animals and their parks being death traps. We all know the Disney parks are actually some of the safest in the world and the animals are treated better than in some of the best zoos. Just ignore them. I've had a couple of people ask me hoe I can enjoy going to Disney because all of the people in the character suits are child molesters and believe me, I've had no trouble calling them idiots.

It was not at Disney, but whilst pushing my mother in her wheelchair in the Town of Horsham this weekend, I uncounted a mouthy chav who shot some derogitary remark off behind my back to try and look big in front of his mates. I stopped, turned slowly and looked him straight in the eye. I then had trouble not bursting out laughing as the little richard just crumbled and slunk behind his friends.

My Uncle always calls me "Walt" and anything that happens at WDW, I get blamed for by him. He thinks that disney is "Too Clean" and it needs to be dirtier.

Back at the Disneyland hotel, a lady was complaining becasue she had prefered seating passes to Aladdin at DCA, which she got through WDTC, and she was livid that a tour group was let in before her, because she had prefered seating. So stupid!

I sure have encountered my share of "idiotic" people making derogatory comments towards my son's wheelchair=stroller assistance card. I just think if you have to make negative comments towards a two year old then God most have something special waiting for you.

(But that has been mostly from inside the parks)

I wouldn't be surprised if these people worked at Universal or Sea World themselves, which more-than-likely explains their attitude towards Disney! Anyone ever thought about that?! :fork:

i know this is not "PC" and im sure im going to get flamed for this but.....

while i understand the need for special seating and other considerations for those in wheelchairs and other disabilities, one thing that happens all the time, that really peeves me, is that those in wheelchairs and their parties always get a free ride to the front of the line.

im sorry if this offends anyone, but i dont feel that just because you diabled, you should get carte blanche to jump ahead of people who have been waiting upwards of an hour or more to the front of the line.

Ouch! I have to disagree with you on this one. Any amusement park will let disabled guests go to the front of the line.

I don't want to go on further, for fear of flaming you....

The only thing offensive about your post in relation to Disney World is that you are wrong as regards the vast majority of attractions. For those of us travelling with a wheelchair user have to wait longer to get on a ride.

If you don't want to wade through that thread, the truth is that for most attractions wheelchair users wait in the very same line as the able bodied and we are all happy for that.

Some shows you get a good seat at the front, more often you are at the back.

Buzz Lightyear you have to queue to get to the front of the regular queue then head to the off load ramp and wait some more time there.

For the safari you have to load at a special doc - this one takes a lot longer that the regular line.

The only queue jumping I've experienced is Big Thunder Mountain where you head straight to the exit and board there and on Splash Mountain, when you get to the stairs in the regular queue you peel off and head to the off-load bay.

LOL ya beat me to it, Barnum. :)

That's what I get for opening a thread, going off to cook dinner, then not refreshing before I reply. :)
