Thanks...

I'll take the corporate one!!!

Lets put it this way...

It's kind of like being a fan of Disney and WDW for say over 30 years and then they go and fire Goofy - because Goofy said something about them firing Donald Duck... and ABC doesn't care what you say or think...
:lookaroun

And forget about money... it was politics... this actress had the guts to speak up publically about ABC firing all the veteran actors on the show... and then she got fired...

Now I know how people felt when they got rid of Mr. Toads...

Yeah... I know it sounds stupid... a soap opera... but this is what is happening to ABC Daytime.

They are one by one eliminating all of the Veteran Actors either by cutting down their work schedule or outright firing them. These are actors who have been on the shows and have had active story lines for over 20 years. They are the ones - sans Susan Lucci who have made money for ABC for all of those years. It's happening on 2 out of the three ABC soaps currently on air and there are rumors that it will be more.

The so called demographics have told them that we 30 year olds and up do not spend enough money and do not watch enough for them to keep any of the actors on any more. We are too old. I am only 42. And aparently I do not spend enough money for them to be happy.

Granted all of those teeny boppers who supposedly watch the show as in their in their dreams demographics should be in school when the show is on and yes I know you can TIVO it... The true fans and the ones who not only pay for the vacations, but the thousands who show up for Super Soap Weekend in November are being told that they do not matter anymore.

It's like telling all of you that they will get rid of your favorite character, backstory and all of the merchandise that you so enjoy (as do I) because you do not matter. You're too old. You (no matter how much you spend on tickets, resorts, food, etc...) do not spend enough money to have an opinion as to whether or not your character (think Goofy and Donald from above...) should still be considdered part of the Fab 5...

ABC and Disney have told millions of people they do not matter. Think of that next time you buy your next T-shirt, mug or whatever. You like Goofy...but the Goofster doesn't get enough ratings in that key demographic so no more Goofy...he's gone.... Tomorrow... and he ain't comin back!!!

RIP Goofy.... (and yes... I do love Goofy...I'd hate to see him go the way of ABC Daytime...)

But hey... haven't they already done that with the way the Disney Channel has turned out??????????????????????????????????????

Complain all you want. Its a business. If they feel the target audiance wants purple Oompa-Loompas, they will fire everyone and replace them with purple Oompa-Loompas. Its the nature of the beast...

Purple Ommpa Loompas would be fine if that's what the target audience really wanted...

The target audience is not the same as the audience that currently supports the show. & the Target audience is not likely to have a chance to see what they want either...they are complaining too....
