I know theres already a thread about this "rumor"...but yesterday it was a "rumor"........today it looks like fact. According to IMDB....Disney will be returning to hand drawn animation in 2007. I didnt mean to take away from the other thread but since it looks official i figured on adjusting the discussion to a factual format. Heres the link......

Who the heck is Jim Hill??? anyway, the movie itself has its own page on imdb.com its called "enchanted".....Heres the plot....

A princess-in-waiting (Amy Adams) is banished by an evil queen from the cartoon world of Andalasia to the hardened world of present-day New York

This movie was in production before they stoped making hand drawn animation films. I would take it as a rumor right now and not see this as a revival of hand drawn animation. While it's a good thing it might just be Disney finishing up a movie half way made.

I know most people (especially pro-Disney people) don't tend to trust Jim Hill, but he is a person that has many contacts within the animation community. Tho, Lasseter, as I've stated before was looking for ways to bring 2D animation to Pixar for a couple years and now that he will better options open to him, I see Disney within the next couple years greenlighting a couple 2D features. The only issue I see with the article is that the article talks about James Baxter doing animation for this film.....Baxter left Disney with a major chip on his shoulder. People close to him have said that he really doesn't like Disney at all anymore and really had no interest of ever returning. Also, if this "Enchanted" movie is supposed to come out...it's going to take longer than a year to do the animation parts of it. Of course, it also depends on the ratio of animation to live action. If it's a 75% live action - 25% animation ratio (kinda like Mary Poppins), then it might not be a problem....I do see Baxters involvement in the movie to be an issue tho. It shall be interesting.
