If you rent points, can you do DVC activities?

I saw a photo of the activities board at AKL - stuff like cookie decorating, night vision goggles etc. one card said DVC members and there was a special activity - if I rented points from davids would I be classed as DVC member when I'm there for things like this? This brings me to my number one reservation about renting points - would i be able to 'fess up to a CM, for example, to ask if i can do the above dvc activity, or do you have to kinda keep hush hush about fact you've rented points and are not bona fide dvc?
I don't expect to get most of the member perks, but that seemed quite tame. While I'm on it, I'm assuming those board activities are free for resort guests - anyone know if that's the case? I'm talking about the campfire stories and kids daytime activities and stuff like that.

I don't THINK you are supposed to be able to do the activities unless you are, or are staying with, a DVC Member. However, I have never seen anybody check. But then I have only observed things like bingo at the pool at DVC only resorts (like SSR)

I know there are Concierge only activities, and they DO check for those.

I'm not sure about those activities but we have rented movies on a room rented with points before. When they ask for our dvc card we just give them the Key to the World card that says "DVC Room Only".

If memory serves, DVC Member myself, whenever we do activities, like get shuffle board equipment or sign out a board game at the community halls, they ask for a room key not a DVC Member card. So if you room key says DVC which I believe it should, I would anticipate no issues.

In regards to the night vision goggles at AKV, that is a resort thing, not a DVC thing. One word of advice though, bring some Off. We got bit like crazy the one night we did it. A lot of the decorating stuff may have a $1-$5 add-on, may are free, but we never get asked for our membership card on those. And the camp fires, no worries there. There is no room check or DVC check. That is a resort thing too. Some resorts do
Marshmallows some do Smores. Hilton Head had Smores while I recall BLT and OKW did Marshmallows

Most of the activities you mentioned are for all AKL guests. There are specific DVC activies, like the Welcome Home Wednesdays, that are for owners only, and you may be asked to show a DVC membership card, not a KTTW. I know that AKL as for a while doing some activities that were meant just for owners. A small mix & mingle, time to discuss the resort and what changes they were planning, etc. Not something that would appeal to most non owners I don't think.

The activities you are talking about are available through the community hall and are available to all guests staying at the resort. Cash guests at a DVC resort are eligible as well as owners or those renting points. Here's a link to the Disney site where they talk about community halls.

https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/recreation/community-halls/

There are some benefits like merchandise discounts and food discounts that are only available to DVC members.
