If You Could Change Anything at WDW, What Would You Do?

Hopefully, this is in the right forum. The title basically says it, if you could change anything at Walt Disney World (replace an attraction, change a restaurant, etc.) what would you change?

I would remove Stich's Great Escape and put in a Dr. Who ride (assuming Disney could get the licencing from the BBC). The round theater could be the TARDIS interior. I will add more details later :)

I'm totally all for a Dr. Who attraction! That would be a pretty awesome addition to Tomorrowland!

Maybe remove AVATAR Land, (since I'm not a fan of the franchise) and build an area in Animal dedicated to Lion King in that spot. Also, build a lot more area for the Muppets in DHS.

Just off the top of my head..

I would replace Avatarland with Australia at AK

I would add new countries to the WS, (Brazil, Russia, Egypt) and have a pavilion that rotates to a new country every 5-10 years.

Either take HS back to what it was meant to be, or completely redo it to be part Lucasfilm and part Pixar.

Too many to just choose one:

(1) World Showcase- I would add relevant, culturally-based (not movie-based) rides in the world showcase (e.g., Speed train ride for China's bullet train between China and Germany, Gondala type e-ticket ride between Italy and Germany, and French alps based log flume ride between France and Morroco) and update Soarin to "Soarin over the World" - we're in Epcot, not sure why this wasn't the plan from the beginning??
(2) Future World - I would partner with apple, google, or some other tech giant and re-do future world (including reverse updating Figment and putting the COP where the World of Energy is) so that Epcot is complete and vibrant again
(3) DHS- I would add Carsland, Star Wars land, a good water ride, and a permanent Star Wars-themed character meal and Pixar-themed character meal.
(4) Frontier Land - I would bring back the Golden Horseshoe show/lunch, and move Toy Story Midway mania (since it's a shooting game based off a cowboy) over into this area somewhere (TBD)
(5) Tomorrowland - I would move COP to Future world, I would add a Wall-E feature that roams, I would take out SGE and put in a Meet the Robinsons based flight simulator ride, I would add a "Space themed" (i.e., gender neutral) character meal where COP was with maybe Buzz, Stitch, Future Chip and Dale, and bring back the other future Fab 5)

I also feel Avatarland is a weird fit for Animal Kingdom, but it will (hopefully) be better than Camp Minnie-Mickey. Hopefully there will be more to do then before.

I would update Muppet Vision 3D. I know that may annoy some people, but it would be nice to see something new after 24 years. Also, apparently there was talk among Imagineers of changing the Great Movie Ride to have the Muppets host the ride and act out the movie scenes. That could make the GMR more bearable.

Speaking of DHS, if there was a Lucasfilm section, they should add Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye from DLP. I know it is somewhat similar to Dinosaur but I've always enjoyed it.

I would have them do away with road based transportation and have the whole placed connected via monorail. I do like the buses however love the monorail even more. It would also save money and benefit the environment in the long run.

1. I'd get rid of the parades. They don't do anything for me but build up annoyance because of the crowds that I have to try and get my way through from one place to another.

2. I'd eliminate Tomorrowland Speedway and use that space for a few smaller attractions, some for Tomorrowland and some for Fantasyland. A Frozen ride would go here instead of in Norway.

3. I'd see that each country in WS has its own unique ride - not movie - that shows off its culture and history. This would include reinstating Maelstrom.

4. I would institute more TTA-type rides in the other parks. It's a relaxing way to get off your feet for a bit and still be on a ride, and that could be used around the World instead of solely in MK.

5. I'd make every park connected via monorail, even if it requires a second, more southern TTC in order to do it.

6. I'd put the TTA back on the last narration. I hate the current one; the previous just sounded better.

7. I'd make another park, smaller and just for the very small children so that areas like Dino-Rama could be eliminated and the space better used.

8. I'd replace the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular with the Indiana Jones ride - the same one from Disneyland.

My focus would be on Future World. I'm trying to think rationally and not just say "Bring back Horizons!"

Sticking to something that is feasible, I'd retool the Universe of Energy and connect with a modern energy company. The ride system could still work and lead to something amazing without a huge investment.

I'd next go to Journey to Imagination and rehab the Image Works upstairs. At the same time, I'd gut the downstairs and create a new ride that includes both Figment and Dreamfinder. It wouldn't be a clone of the original and would employ newer technologies to showcase Imagination. It would have tributes to the original and bring back the song, but it would be a move forward, not backwards. I'd use the 3D theater for an Inside Out attraction.

Next, I'd open up the Wonders of Life pavilion again but again re-tool it to reflect modern sensibilities. If I didn't use the Inside Out 3D idea, I'd re-tool Cranium Command with that movie in mind.

Mission Space needs help. The simulators are great, but the ride needs to be re-imagined. I'd connect with Neil degrasse Tyson and create a ride that inspires us and isn't just designed to make us sick.

Finally, I'd make Innoventions places that really showcase futuristic technology. I'd work with forward-thinking companies like SpaceX, Apple, and Tesla to set up a place that's like a local science center, but goes to the next level.

But those companies, especially Apple, are not going to show you what they're working on.

You're right. I'm not thinking in terms of product demonstrations. It's a showcase for ideas, with those companies revealing their thought leadership. Don't get me wrong; I know it's a pipe dream.

I don't think it's as far fetched as you may think.. Apple did throw a huge tech fair (not that dissimilar to the expo that Tony Stark put on in the movie) in the 80s (I think it was to launch the first Mac, but I could be misremembering).. and with the brand power that they wield (and work so hard to expand, i.e. they brought the radio to the interweb..) it could be a powerful branding tool.. they wouldn't have to show the things they are working on.. but have the latest tech, and have some concept car type stuff.. you know.. the stuff they could do, but that really isn't market ready (costs.. demand.. useability.. etc..) to show what they are thinking.. and if Apple doesn't do it.. perhaps Samsung could.. that would be quite the bidding war.. as a matter of fact.. why not have both? let them both try to out do each other.

I know it's a small thing but...bring back Wendy to meet with Peter!! Oh, and Stormtrooper humor all year long once Star Wars land is finished in 20 years, please and thank you ;)

I think a Re-theme for the "Soarin" attraction in Epcot's The Land Pavilion could turn into The Rescuers ride with a new plot complete with special effects would be perfect.

The France Pavilion should create a new building where guests can meet Marie,Toulouse,Berlioz, and Duchess inside the building resembling the home from The Aristocats. And the building next to it can be an indoor show that teaches guests about the history of music and art in France culture. And it will feature Marie,Toulouse,Berlioz and Duchess. Toulouse teaches about French art while Marie,Berlioz, and Duchess teach guests about music. I also wish that Disney can have Toulouse, and Berlioz do meet and greets at Walt Disney World since they are currently found in Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea.

I know that the Tomorrowland Speedway gets a lot of hate on the forums. I feel like that could be replaced with the Matterhorn, since it would work perfectly as a gateway between Fantasyland and Tomorrowland (as it does at DLP). It is also not too intense so it could satisfy the younger crowd but it's also fun for older people.

It probably won't happen because of Expedition Everest but I still vote for it :p
