....where would they put it? I don't think they have lots of land left. Remember they have to keep some trees!

Well believe it or not the property of Walt Disney World is twice the size of Manhattan Island. So I think another park could be put in and still save wildlife. Again the question is when? :veryconfu

I would say they have plenty of room. I am not an expert on these matters, but seeing the gigantic distances between some of the parks, I often wonder while I'm there why so much space is empty in some parts, but in other parts it seems extremely crowded with resorts/parks/entertainment, etc. When you look at DD area, the place seems very packed. While I was exploring around the Swan one year, I got a good vantage point of the area from a bridge, and I could see Boardwalk, Epcot, MGM, Resorts, and DD wasn't too far away. This area seems to be where Diseny has filled up the most. Then there is the MK area around the Seven Seas Lagoon, which isn't as packed or "busy" as DD area, but I think that was intended and should stay that way, as this area is the "nice and quiet" area of Disney. The place that seems teh most empty to me it the area between DD area and MK area. I kinda get from the long monorail ride to Epcot from TTC that there is a vast area untouched by Disney yet.

Of course, some land at WDW they can't build on, wheher it is being purposly saved, or there are problems with the land that have yet to be fixed.

There is still plenty of room to build other parks, From what I have Read there are areas on WDW property that seem to be to marshy and unstable to build on and because of this, will be left to wildlife preservation. The most untouched area would probably be south of 192 in osceola county. I know they have aquired more property just west of the the MK area in the last few years, They have however extended world drive south of 192 in the past few years giving the impression that they plan future developement there at sometime. But due to the current ecconomic situation it belive that not much would happen there anytime soon.

South of 192 is Celebration. They had a lot of land but much of it went to celebration. No one has answered the question...where could they put a new park? There isn't as much land as you think.

Plenty of places. There is a moderately sized section of land north of Epcot boxed in by Epcot Center Drive, World Drive, Vista Blvd, and Bonnet Creek. There's some area on the other side of World Drive (north of Coronado Springs) that they could fit something in. Southeast of Caribbean Beach also has a bit of space but I doubt they want to build that close to 4.

Those are just a few of the options if they want to stay close to the current parks. There are plenty of remote areas of the property they could develop as well.

Anyway, I doubt we will see a new park any time soon. It would pretty much destroy what is left of Animal Kingdom and Epcot's attendance figures.

Althou Celebration is south of 192 it is east of I4 which is only a small portion of of the property on the Oceola side around 1/16 of the 12 SQ miles of property in Oceloa County. Disney property goes west of I4 past the World Drive extension aprox 1 mile west to the Western property line and 4 miles south from 192 to the Southern property line. As far as your question as to where they can build a new park, I can't begin to second guess Disney but there is enough room south of 192 to put 3 EPCOT sized parks around the World Drive extension and south of Celebration as well as two park sized parcels between Cordonado Springs and the MK parking lot just west of World Drive in the orange County side. I would however like to see most of these possibilities stay in there natural state.

FYI There is a property map of WDW on page 19 of the story of Walt Disney World

The area just Southeast of CBR is not Disney property, That 25 acre(approx) parcel was not available for Disney to purchase by the original owner for many rumored reasons( IE. Cost, Politics). However that parcel was just bought by Farifeld Inn and are in the preconstruction planning stages for building a timeshare developement called Bonnett Creek. for more information on this go to the following links

Oh they have the room - I just think that in the current economic climate (Sept 11th & terrorist attacks on everyones minds) another park is not on everyones minds at the moment.

I would love to eventually see a disney sea, however, I would rather see them expand the parks they have now with new areas. when we were down there I haven't seen any area really congested with people other then in the parks.

If I remember correctly Disney had purchased forty-seven miles of land, so I think they'd be able to put in a fifth park. In terms, of where that's a good question.

I remember hearing years ago that a large part of their land was used for a natural water purification / sewage treatment system. Have they done away with that?
