If Test Track opens Dec 6, when do soft openings start?

I was just wondering how soon in advance of the official opening of a ride do soft openings start? We will be in the world the first week of Nov and I wondered if that was too early to even hope?

There is no set time. It all depends on how far in advance the attraction is ready to go. That could be anywhere from a few weeks, a few days or not at all.

That being said, I think a soft opening in early November is highly unlikely. Last I heard they were about a week ahead but that could change at in a heartbeat.

Back when Soarin' was getting ready to open we managed to get in on a Passholder Preview (we lived in FL at the time) and I think it was about a week or so before it opened to the public if I remember right. The soft opening (testing) that was for anyone they managed to grab and invite to go behind the wall (the entire pavilion was closed for refurb and they had a door in the wall where a CM stood) was a few days later, one or two days before opening.

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping it will be open for previews sometime in the second week of November when I'm down there so I'll get to check it out!

Probably softs will start around mid-November. The latest it probably would be is during Thanksgiving week.

From what I am told, they are nowhere near completion. Giant holes are still in the buildings exterior, nothing has been painted and are still ripping up old concrete. Fingers crossed they can pull a miracle and open when they say they will....although that didn't happen in the past either.

Sure doesn't look at all ready. At night you can see into the building from the monorail and it looks like nothing is completed. Just a lot of construction and steel structure, nothing finished. They are working hard at it though. The last three nights there have been all kinds of workers and construction lights after 8:00 pm

I would have to agree based on the updated shots I keep seeing it will be something really incredible if they pull off the 12/6 date. Now... all that said, I assume the interior is done or dang close because they've been doing work for awhile without touching the outside much. One would assume the exterior stuff won't take very long if that is indeed all that's left.

They said December 6th but did they give a year???? Sorry couldn't resist. I hope it is done on time and we are all blown away by the refurb!

I was also initially told the beginning of November, but I have a friend who is a CM at Epcot and was told they are hoping to be finished construction by November 10th with soft openings soon after that. I'm not sure if that's still the plan, but that's what he told me a few weeks ago.
