If Disney were to do a new Star Wars ride/attraction, how would you like it done?

Mondays at work and all I can think about is if WDW were to do another Star Wars ride I'd like to see something along the lines of the Great Movie Ride. A tram driven by R2 and C3PO full of people, meandering through Tantooine, Curruscant, and Naboo with tons of AA action on both sides and overhead. I think it would be cool if at some point the audience gets to be part of a pod race then gets captured and rescued by CM's like GMR but on a bigger scale like EpII. Finally in the end your placed back on earth in a beautiful souvenir shop/restaurant.

hmm I think there is not enough real estate to do a GMR type Star Tours. I could see more a total overhaul of the ride from queue to film system. I look at this way give the DLP setup that lucas wants etc You know a revamped Star Tours will be a huge HIT at MGM

I would rather see a Lord of the Rings ride, although I wouldn't complain about a new Star Wars attraction. I think something interactive would be good.

They realy need to do something better with the best movie licence in the World. I like your concept and I think, together with Islands of Adventures Spiderman technolegie they could pull it of. It would be a great ride!

Heading for the great escape.
Any themeing should be done based on the original three movies and characters. As Parts one and two are look at the special effects oooppps forgot about the story movies.
Or am I bitter and twisted cause im getting old:hammer:

Actually, ther is plenty of realestate, it just resides in the PARKING LOT! The Imagineers really goofed when designing this parking lot, it wraps around the entire park, cutting off easy access to growth..If they just re worked it, the we could have a really cool Star Wars ride...

I agree, Star Wars is a HUGE franchise, I really can't believe they haven't done more with it..
My idea, would be to Keep the Star Tours Premise, and keep the motion simulators, Only afterwards, it would split off into two different rides, both very unique..

1 Motion Sims: I think a growing problem is to keep the -OLD- while paying homage to the -NEW-..The Motion sims should most definetly focus on the new...Star Tour's new destination would be coruscant, the big bustling city, where you would get caught up in a chase after a spy who has collected valuable information from the Rebel Alliance, this would allow there to be some connection with the new movies... The spy gets away, and you return back to base, after you are persuaded to help in a 'hail mary' type operation, with valuable information gone, the rebels have no choice but to stage a swift attack on an imperial installation to retrive the info....Where is the Information? ON Endor, of course! Now, you'd depart form your motion simulator and into a quickly constructed Rebel Camp

2. The departure....: Here, the group would be divided..there are two Missions, Retireval of the information, or saving an Ewok village..The Ewok mission is a Kid and family friendly Spiderman type ride, going through the village, and joining into the celebration afterwards..of course, you get a laser blaster to shoot those pesky battle droids (We don't want kids shooting actual storm/clone troopers, too violent, they are human under there!)

3. The OTHER route, If you're daring enough, you can don a rebel armor suit, and grab a blaster, cause you're going in...ON FOOT! Yes, to retrieve the information, You'd be going through the most elaborately themed maze-type enviroment. You would have a guide to lead your group of 10 fighters through, so noone gets lost, and so the show elements go off at the right time....

Either way, it would end up being an amazing two rides in one, and fun all around

That sounds like a great idea if they could pull it off. I definitely like keeping the motion sims while adding something new to keep it fresh. I'm sure they could think of something. And anything star wars related would be a gold mine.

i honestly think that if they ever did redo star tours would be to make it an EMV ride , the motion sims are jsut getting a little too predictable from riding it over and over , if they did just redo the motion sims they would have to film a new movie and reprogram the sims which = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

While your ideas sound cool, they wouldn’t be very practical for a couple of reasons: first, the story idea is cool but a little complicated. It might be difficult for non-Star Wars or Sci-Fi fans to follow and any major attraction has to have broad appeal. The other deals with the maze situation: With around twenty thousand people a day going through MGM on average, the wait time for something like this would be astronomical and the time it would take to get people suited up… and then there is the whole sanitation issue with the armor. This could be done as something that would require and additional fee but if that were the case, they would have to price it high enough to keep the lines from getting unruly but low enough to be reasonable. Would it be worth $10 to go through it once to you? How about $20? Then there are the liabilities of an attraction like this where people who fall or accidentally get hit in the head with stock of someone else’s gun, will be more likely to sue Disney than the Paintball camp on the edge of town. :(

I don't think we will see a new Star Wars anything until after the final movie is completed, as Lucas is just too busy wrapping up the double trilogy.

Being a huge Star Wars fan my mind goes nuts with the limitless possibilities of all the Star Wars rides they could do. I doubt they would do this, but I would LOVE to see a whole Star Wars land/section of MGM studios with multiple rides in them.

Granted the first thing that comes to mind is a Spiderman type ride. But I think Lucas and Disney would not try to make it that typical and jazz it up a bunch. I sure hope they would, cause as good as Spidey is, it is overrated, and not something I NEED to ride over and over.

A roller coaster type ride, where you are piloting the Millenium Falcon, doing barrel rolls and flips through an asteroid field would be nice. I'm sure they could have a huge monitor screen at parts to simulate an asteroid field. And the use of LSM technology to blast you into HYPER space.

Or even use the Indy(DL)/Dinosaur ride vehicles to have a high energy ride through attraction.

Honestly, I don't think they could narrow it down to just ONE ride. As cool as a Soarin Over Tattoine ride would be, Lucas would not like the idea of just throwing in different clips or planets all in a row, which would not have any cohension in itself (which is a good thing).

The good thing is that Lucas has expanded the Star Wars brand into books and video games, so its not like he is not willing to use his "baby" for non movie things.

All I know is that Darth Vader and Yoda are screaming to be in a theme park attraction for faaaaaaaaaar too long!!!!!!

I would love to see a star wars emv attraction, that was the original idea for star tours. The star wars emv indpired the indiana jones ride at disneyland.

I would like a ride that capitalizes on all of the cool Star Wars characters... maybe have it be in the Cantina and have an opening scene with all of the neat creatures and then have a chase scene where you jump on some kind of aircraft...

Another thought I've had since childhod... to ride a Tonton!

Well, if the TonTon was more well known, they could have set up a sorta..'TonTon ranch' where you'd go in, and see Life sized AA's of a tonton, similar to IOA's Triceratops encounter, you'd go to it's stall and learn about it, and at the end, even get to sit up on it's saddle..Come to think of it, they could put a bunch of critters in an area like this, The Gungun's ride on something, and there are those large furry beasts from Tatooine, and those odd critters from Naboo that flip Anakin off their backs..It would be an interesting exhibit they could couple to the a large ride

I think anything new would be great (assuming they don't follow the dark path and make another journey into your imagination <shudder>)

There are so many possibilities, fly a snowspeeder in the battle of Hoth (simulator) follow Luke thru the depths of Bespin looking for Vader (EMV?), Fly an Xwing, Tie Figher, or Jedi Starfigher in space (dark coaster).

Anything, just please, something new!!!

A whole Star Wars 'land'?
Excited I am, but doubtful it is.

I think they should use a ride system like dinosaur from animal kingdom. you could be put in your own little x-wing fighter or something. you would start by takeing off from the planet and heading into hyperspace. you then stop in (in front of a large screen that surrounds your ship) you are attacked by tie fighters and you get cought up in a fight against tie fighters (vheicle turns into a motion sim at this point. then in a panic you shoot back into hyperdrive and come out (another large screen that surrounds the ship) you now see the death star (vheicle turns into motion sim at this point) you fight again with tie fighters and do the trench run in the death star. you just make it out befor the death star blows. you head back into hyper drive come out (third screen motion sim) you then fly down and land on the planet then the ship docks and you go back to the que area to disembark.
