If any wonderful Disney people headed to Florida within the next few months, there is a sargassum bloom (seaweed bloom) heading to beaches:

I thought it was only affecting the Gulf coast…I have relatives on the Atlantic coast…I will have to ask them if they have heard of anything…here in NJ, we just get occasional jellyfish and syringes from N.Y. washing up…lol

ETA: I spoke with my cousin and uncle near Daytona…you are correct, both coasts but mainly south Florida Atlantic Coast…ugh…I can only imagine what would be mixed in that and the smell…

Went on my honeymoon years ago and stayed at a B& B. One of the selling points was it was right on the water for swimming. The next morning we strolled to the beach for a morning swim and found jellyfish as far as you could see. Well I wasnt there for the swimming anyway. :p:p:p

We moved to Oahu earlier this year and I was shocked to learn that there are box jelly fish that regularly appear 8-10 days after the full moon, typically along the south beaches (but we’ve seen west and north shore beaches closed for jellyfish as well). Insane! 🪼
