Idina Menzel In Talks to Play Nancy in Enchanted

I have heard a little about Enchanted from a few other sites, and I'm already getting excited for it. To add to my excitement, I found out Idina Menzel (Maureen in Rent, and the amazing Elphaba in Wicked) is in talks to play one of the characters from the new movie, Nancy. I don't know if she is the main character or not, but it should be interesting.

Holy crow! How exciting is that! Idina Menzel is a great singer and actress...one of my favorite b-way stars! How exciting to hear that she's in talks to do another movie!

Let's just hope this movie has a better makeup crew than Rent had. She was lookin pretty rough in some of those close ups. LOL

By the way, It was also announced that she will be returning to her roll of Elphaba in the London production of Wicked.

And speaking of Wicked, the 30 minute version is actually going forward for Universal Studios Japan. They had casting in LA on March 30th.

It would be great to see her kind of talent behind this because it really shows that perhaps the MUSIC will come back to the feature presentations. Although, I have to say I think Anna Gasteyer (sp?) was better as Elphaba in the Chicago show.

I just found out that Steven Schwartz is writing the music for Enchanted. It's looking better and better every day. Nancy, however, is not the main character. The good news is that Idina Menzel has been officially signed on to play the character.
