We are going to Disney in 37 days, I would love ideas on how to surprise my four year old son. I was thinking of having a character call him to tell him he's going to DW. Any ideas??? Thank you!

Well, surprises can backfire. We surprised my daughter at school when she got out. I had a Disney backpack filled with everything to have fun while flying. I had an envelope from "Mickey" inviting her to come down, a note from "Tiana" to stay it one of her Royal Rooms. She started to cry and didn't want to go. It went on for about an hour. It took McDonald's, some candy, and some other coaxing to finally get her to settle down. She had never reacted like that on previous trips. Not sure what it was.

Just be prepared for a reaction you didn't expect.

As for real suggestions...

A call from a character would be good, or a "letter" with suggestions from said character for the upcoming trip, like things to see and a "see ya real soon" note at the end. Offers more visuals and a way to introduce different things in WDW.

Are you taking Magical Express from the airport or are you driving yourself? When we took our 4DD, she found out when we drove through the Walt Disney World property gates. She had no idea. The video of her reaction is something I will cherish forever.

Seeing is so much better than hearing and waiting.

But again, this only works if you're finding your own way on property. Magical Express (and the luggage tags) would give that one away early.

We are driving, the airfare was crazy high with booking with only 38 days out. I thought about waiting till he saw the gate but I feel like he's figure it out, he's way too smart. Plus my older two know and if we wait till we get there and they blow the surprise beforehand I'll be mad lol.

That's kind of funny?!
No need to apologize, I was laughing too. I asked her if I could take her friend instead that was there with her and my daughter said yes. She got over it when we finally got to the bus at the airport and it was real. She got to play with a few other girls at the terminal that were flying down too.
