Thanks to Screamscape we now know IDEAS is moving from backstage at DHS to uptown Orlando. I can think of a view topics for conversation here including what this might mean for DHS expansion. However I'll wait for some of the insiders to comment.

This is exactly what I was suspecting back over a month ago when the DHS Backlot tour was closed for refurb..... if they are moving departments out, then that is the start of something...and could be first stage preparations for M. Inc. coaster. I mean, why do a refurb of an area that is going to be closing soon to make way for more attractions? (according to our insiders here)

I'm suprised nobody has heard of WDI leaving the studios as consolidation happens. My guess is WDI at WDW is going to be placed in a central location eventually where practcal. Unless something is vital to day to day operations at DHS, my guess is it's also on it's way somewhere else. Did they relocate the wardrobe folks yet to their new digs. Anyone?:veryconfu

i.d.e.a.s. is the last remaining private production company on the backlot. It was originally a department of WDW but went private about 8 years ago.

Ok. I didn't know that. Thanks.
So Monster's Inc Coaster expansion pad?

Seems like it is too far from Stage 1. But who knows, maybe the coaster will have a long straightway similar to TT that runs behind TSMM. I will be real interested to see if wardrobe is still featured on the BT when it reopens or if the tour will bypass that building. It was rumored wardrobe is leaving DHS and that "pad" is much closer to Stage 1. Interesting times at DHS!:)

Yeah my TV Productions professor has worked out at the Studios productions facilities prior to and following the lack of interest of Disney to utilize it. It was bought out in 2001 and is still managed by Bob Allen who was Vice President of Disney Production Services which oversaw all of the Studios working facilities and services. Guess this means I won't be able to snag some backstage access now - not that there's anything of interest back there anyways...
