Ideal reservations...

So we’re planning our first "real" WDW trip. We’ve been before, but only for a day or two, this time we’re staying 7 nights on property.

We also took advantage of the free Disney Dinning plan this September. We’re a bit behind the eight ball on setting up reservations because we just booked last month. We’ll be staying at Port Orleans - Riverside. If there are some excellent restaurants at Disney Springs that we should take advantage of let me know and I can switch out one of our reservations. We’ve never been there, so we’re not really sure if it is worth it or just a glorified mall.

Wanting to get some advice on my selections. I’ve done some research and tried to pick places that will appeal to all three of us (2 adults and a 2.5-year-old). Our 2.5 year-old loves the characters, but doesn’t like waiting in-line, so we’re trying to take advantage of some of the characters meals while still eating decent food.

These aren’t in the most ideal order, but it was all that was available:

Saturday: Dinner: ‘Ohana (got lucky with this one I think)
Sunday: Breakfast: Be our Guest
Dinner: Tusker House - Jungle Book show package
Monday: Dinner: Hollywood and Vine - Fantastic show package
Tuesday: Dinner: Whispering Canyon Cafe
Wednesday: Dinner: Coral Reef
Thursday: Dinner: Chef de France
Friday: Dinner: Crystal Palace

Also looking for advice on QS meals for lunch and breakfast. I’ve head the BBQ place at AK is a must. Good QS meals at Epcot?

Any input is appreciated!

You can find very good QS at Sushine Season's in Epcot. It is in the Land Pavilion by Soarin. Very good variety for all. Or you can just eat something around the world in the different countries.

There are numerous QS spots in MK. It just depends on what you want. Check out the menus for Pinochio's Village Haus, Cosmic Ray's, or Casey's.

At AK, Flame Tree BBQ is a must for me. My wife likes the Yak & Yeti counter service windows. The Little one can get food from Pizzafari or Restaurantasaurus.

The only place with Awful QS is at DHS. Nothing there is very appealing to us. We usually eat an early afternoon sit down meal there and then snack through the night if needed. Or the kids just get the generic Disney Pizza.

Some of my favorite choices for dinner and I'm 26, not 2.5! :D

Flame Tree BBQ is a good one, especially on the DDP. I'd also recommend BOG for lunch if you can get a reservation. If not, Columbia Harbor House is a good bet.

Sunshine Seasons would be a good QS place in Epcot, but if your party is interested in a particular cuisine, the World Showcase has so many options to explore!

Of the places you've already booked, the only one I'd question is Whispering Canyon. Do you really want to travel all the way to the Wilderness Lodge when you're staying at POR? What other plans do you have that day? If you'll already be nearby in the Magic Kingdom I can see it making sense. Wilderness Lodge is lovely! However if your day is revolving around a different park you may not find it worth it to drag a 2 year old all that way unless you're in the mood to explore another resort. Be aware there is a lot of construction right now at WL, so some areas on property are blocked off such as the nature walk.
Disney Springs is way more than a glorified mall! We always make time for it. Recently we've enjoyed dinners at Morimoto and the Boathouse.
Sorry, can't recommend any QS. We don't do much of that unless we have a hunger emergency and at that point anything tastes good :)
Happy Planning!

Yeah, WL might be too far out of the way. Also, I didn't realize there was construction going on. Maybe we'll switch to an early dinner at Disney Springs and then head to a park for the evening.
Thanks!
