I just returned from the world and I have to say I think Disney could do something to utilize the Fantasyland station for the skyway. I stood there trying to figure out what the chalet style building was and I finally figured it out one night before the park closed. Ditto for the tommorowland station, wasted space. Also I seem to remember that when I was there in 03 River Country was closed for remodeling and I found out that it was closed for good when I went down this time. What happened?

There have been many discussions about River Country and the (assumed) reasons it closed, including its remoteness, structural issues of the mountain, and most importantly the ban on swimming in freshwater lakes in the state of Florida due to bacteria (River Country used fresh water right out of Bay Lake). A quick search for "River Country" should provide you with many threads.

The Tomorrowland station is part of one of the largest expansion plots at the MK. But anything built here would require the construction of alternate bathrooms first, as the building contains the only bathrooms on the east end of Tomorrowland.

The Fantasyland station is very land-locked and there's not a whole lot that can be done with that land. About the only semi-viable idea that has come out of many, many discussions online (at least in my opinion) is some sort of small quick service location that serves coffee and pastries, like the Fountainview used to in Epcot.
