Before It's A Small World was rehabbed at WDW, there was a hot-air balloon at the end scene (I know,it's still there). Back then, there was a clown in the balloon holding a sign that said "help me" on it. Does anyone know why this existed on a ride that is supposed to be whimsical? Was it because he was supposed to be sick of hearing the song????

One can only assume it was meant to add humor because of that very reason! :lol:

This site says that the sign is not because of the song but it is there to fit with the clown's character. He is the only one not smiling in the ride. I'm not sure how reliable the site is though. (It includes a picture)
