I WAS Planning a WDW Trip for 2024

In June we did WDW/UOR. 6 park days at WDW and 1 UOR Day for both parks. Just for fun, because I do like the planning part I was just looking at 4 WDW park days only and priced it at POFQ and Drury Inn. WDW maxed out at $4,000. Decided to check on just a UOR trip. UOR at Cabana Beach 3 Day-3 Park came in at $2,834. So, yeah... I was surprised at the difference.

Last night we showed the 15 year girl a resort video for Cabana Beach. She kept jaw dropping... Wondering why we didn't stay there before. Both kids 15 and 12 asked if there was a water park there too.

My wife said she was glad I was having fun the other day when planning the WDW trip, but not gonna happen. So, also yesterday I left her watching the Cabana Beach video while I went outside to water. By the time I came back inside, she was pricing out the family suite at Cabana Beach. It comes in at $3086

If you are early risers splurge on a Volcano view room on the 6th or 7th floor, you may never leave the room. Little small for your whole family vs the suite and no mini kitchen but that view......

I have a 15 year old girl and 13 year old boy. I think that pull out couch is going to be of great benefit.

Yeah that is why I hesitated posting but that view is amazing. "Is there a waterpark there?" Ha Ha Ha Ha

FWIW, if and when you book, come back every so often and see if passholder rates have been released for your room and dates. If you haven't bought tickets yet at that point, it might be worth doing the math to see if having the person booking the room buy a seasonal annual pass (making them entitled to the passholder discount -- you'd have to rebook the room at the passholder rate, and be prepared to present your annual pass at checkin), instead of regular park tickets, would save you anything.
