I've got a confession. I love watching the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. That being said, I think they should build one in Mickey's Toontown fair. It should be an exact replica of the building in the show and should be like a playground for little kids. Inside the building should be little touch screen computer games. Some of which could have you interact with the Disney characters in the show. If THAT'S successful, they should make a "Mickey park" just outside of it. Who agrees with me?

Let me say, I get very frustrated with the folks that criticize pooh's play ground. During our last trip, my 18 month old son loved it. I also really appreciate the various play areas spread around for the toddlers like the one near Splash Mountain. It gives a great distraction while the parents swap out on the rides and something for the kids to do that cannot ride. I think they need to build a similar area in MGM between RNR and TOT. Those that criticize, need to Disney needs to have stuff for all ages. I also recommend these folks stop by the play area and watch some of the kids really having a lot of fun.

That said -- my 2 year old and I really like the Mickey's Playhouse. I too think a play area would be awesome, but think it probably would be a better addition to MGM.

Completely and 100% agree. The ones that criticize it are just being selfish.

Just watched Mickey's Clubhouse with my 2yo this morning. She loves it!

Not another playground....Toontown Fair already has one with Donald's Boathouse.

Okay...I'll give it to you, but only if Donald's playground is removed.

I totally disagree Todd....I'm not being selfish. I think my kids are too old for Pooh's Wasteful Spot...but we avoided it like the plague. We also skipped the HISTK playground in the Studios and the Boneyard.

On the occassions we have stopped....the kids have gotten 20-30 minutes and we're outta there.

I didn't spend money on a Disney vacation to spend tons of time at a themed playground....we can get playgrounds at home.

As for Pooh's Wasteful Spot...I think most people that criticize this spot, and I'm only speaking for myself is that they had 15 years to come up with an attraction for the old 20 K area and this is the best that they could come up with?

I realize that it's supposedly only temporary but after all the time looking at the empty lagoon...we get a playground. That's my main complaint...while I think the playgrounds as a concept are silly...my main problem here is lack of creativity and vision.

I'm sorry but um...no. I can't even stand Pooh's playful spot
Well, techniclly, it wasn't made for YOU was it?
Aww, what's wrong with playgrounds? If anywhere a playground is benificial, it's Disney World. Think about it, the kids spend alot of the day standing in lines and sitting in cars moving them around in rides. As fun as that is, kids need to strech their legs and run around and they can't do that just anywhere in Disney World. They'd get lost far too easily. Sure, you can get playgrounds just about anywhere, but you can't get playgrounds themed with Pooh or HISTK or toontown anywhere, now can you? ;)

Playgrounds (themed or otherwise) are nice... but why not put them in the resorts where they belong? This way they are not taking up space inside the parks, which is scarce.

It's amazing that people don't think that there are enough things for young children to see and do in the Magic Kingdom (or EPCOT, MGM, or Animal Kingdom for that matter). If your children are too young for to appreciate the sights, rides, attractions, characters, parades, et cetera... maybe you should wait until they are a bit older to bring them to WDW. Chances are, they are not going to remember much of it anyway (including the themed playground experience).

If your kids need a place to run around and play in the Magic Kingdom, why not take them over to Tom Sawyer Island? It's much cooler and certainly more memorable than any of the "themed" playgrounds.

Could be too crowded sometimes. Especially if it were the only playground on there

That being said, looking abck at my first post, perhaps playground wasn't the right term. When I thought Playground, I thought more original Imageworks and less Pooh's playful spot.

DragonRider, I agree with you, it would be a great idea for a playground. Children these days need a place to blow off a little steam while waiting for the next ride or in between the que lines.

Have you seen on tv lately the reports of playgrounds going away, because, some child might get hurt while climbing on the monkey bars :brick: or falling off the slide, they are now making parks more softer so our children don't get hurt. I still have the scar from a fall off of a slide as a child and I survived, heck I survived black top playgrounds.

Some children need a little more playgrounds and a lot less video games.
